Only forty fishermen on board all limited out with Stripers. Seas were flat, weather cold, heated cabin good fishing every had a good day.

Don't be afraid... It's the Atlantic ocean... Can't cancel trips to canyon with 3 to 6 ft seas.. Had plans took time off for this trip. And cancelled cause of so called weather.NOAA said 3to6 hmm sounds fishy. Or should I say not fishy..

The Gambler is the best fishing boat on the east coast - hands down. The captains and crew are amazing, the boat is clean and modern, the trips are fantastic. In between the rides, beach and funnel cake, bring the family out! And in the "off season", serious fishermen will love the Gambler's more advanced fishing trips.

Just want to start off saying the crew was great. The problem I had with this trip, is that they advertise this as Nite Wrecking. They claim we would be fishing for Ling. (The captains favorite fish). And at the same time, would catch Sea bass, porgies, blue fish and mackerel. Well we started off right from the beginning with diamond jigs, so I knew something was up so I questioned it. Crew said they were gonna start off with Blue fish. Long story short. We anchored in one spot and fished for Blue fish all night and never moved from that spot. I bought worms and prepared for wreck fish. Never again will I go on this boat.

The ship is well organized and the mates are friendly. The mates are there to help you before you know you have a problem. When a fish is on they are there to advise and direct the action. We had six fish on at the same time and they had no problems assisting everyone. If you lost your rig, they replaced it, the bait was always available, and they found time to sell you food when you became hungry. Bringing your own food was also encouraged. Whatever your need they were happy to help. The captain was professional and really supportive of the crew. He spent a lot of time cheering on those who had fish or chatting with the guests. I really enjoyed the trip and plan to book again.

I work with people with intellectual disabilities. One of the guys I work with wanted to go deep sea fishing. I helped him to plan a trip for a few nights but then COVID happened and we couldn't go so I looked for a place we could go and be home in a day. After reading the reviews here I wasn't sure what to expect but it was the right price and location so we gave it a shot. So glad we did! We got there an hour early as stated on the web site and ticket. Capton Bob was out there directing people where to park since the lot is small and you have to park each other in. Once parked we got our stuff together and were boarded. The guy I was taking needed to wear a life jacket for safety he took his own, no one batted an eye at a grown man wearing a life jacket which made him more comfortable and not feel "special". We left the dock about 15 min early and headed out to sea. We made quite a few stops and it was 50/50 if you cought anything. My husband cought 4 or 5 sea robbins and something else, I cought one fluke and the guy with us didn't catch anything. Some of that may have to do with our skills lol. The guy with us tangled his line on the reel several times and the crew were more than willing to help him. At one point he was down on himself and asked if they had a kid proof rod. The crew guy told him it happens a lot, it's ok and he doesn't need to feel bad about it. They also told us what fish were what and pointed out special things like how soft the bottom of the fluke was. We were due to be back at 630 but it was closer to 7 when we docked. We probably ended up with an extra hour between leaving early and returning late but that was a bonus so no complaints from me. All in all the trip was amazing and I'm really happy with our choice. Will definitely go again.

Took my daughter and grandson on the 8 am half day fluke fishing trip on July 16. Arrived early as directed and given gear and instruction. Crew capable, kind, patient and very helpful. Caught mostly sea bass (5 keepers) and 1 fluke too small to keep. Boat supplied a cooler on board to keep the fish and we had a cooler in the car for the trip home. Ice available on the dock. My 17 year old grandson loved the whole experience, not the least the dinner of the fish he caught.

Had a good time on the gambler. The captain and crew were fantastic. First time deep sea fishing since I was a kid, brought my son. It was a tough day fishing because the boat was overcrowded. We caught more lines of other people than fish. I caught four fish (none of them keepers) my son caught 2, we were on other people's lines many more times than that.
The crew worked to help with detangling and were always available to help take fish off the hooks as well as provide other support.
The rental equipment was OK, a little tricky as we spent some time either detangling the reels or managing them so they wouldn't tangle. (We are basically first time fishers, so it might have been us).
The only real complaint is that it was too crowded. Kept bumping into others while fishing, no room to do much but drop over the side. (no elbow room to cast in an attempt to not have hooks together).
The couple next to us took the rpize for biggest fish, but it was a fluke.

Sailed 8/24/17 morning with my two teenage daughters. We had been on the boat years before and always had a great time. This outing, the weather was perfect and the boat was packed. Rented reels for $5.00 and it includes bait and hook and sinker. For non rentals, you get plenty of bait included too. Lots of people were catching "door mat" size fluke. We had some shorts that went back, some sea Robin and a mackerel. Caught a fair amount, and they were biting at the bait this morning. Only one keeper but it was fairly large and lots of meat for dinner that night. Wish we got more keepers, but it was a busy day catching and there were plenty of keepers elsewhere on the boat. They cut up the fish for us at no charge. Another person with a review said they charged to filet the fish, never heard of that on any boat. The crew was amazing and was right there at every fish caught or when lines got tangled. Crew was awesome the entire trip! Even baited our hooks and others before the first stop without asking, surprising! Excellent crew! The boat was very clean and so was the snack area and bathrooms. Can't wait to get back on again. Highly recommend!

well ,we had a beautiful day to go out and fluke fish.we left the dock at 2 pm sharp.the boat was out till a few minutes past 6pm. i brought my own pole as i always do. i had to pay 5.00 $ for a fluke hook and a 12 oz. lead sinker,you need a heavy weight to stay on the bottom for fluke fishing. ive been on open boats in three different states in my life,this was a first to pay for anything . ive been fishing for 53 years. my buddy rented a pole on the boat and was given hook and sinker.bait was supplied.everyone fished on the same side of the boat.two mates were onboard to help us .jill and her partner were very helpful with what we needed. the " galley wench " was working the little snackshop with soda,water,coffee.also snacks and hotdogs. the fishing was not good today ,but the captain keep up trying to find the fish for us ,moving the boat many times. the mens and ladys head,were pretty clean as was the boat in general. i also want to say that any time i have been on an open boat,the crew allways will fillet and bag,any fish caught.this boat there is a " nominal fee " to do this. next year it will be a different boat.i have been on different boats out of point pleasant in the past.no charge for hooks and filleting.its normal that they loan you a sinker,you give it back when your done.the boat is running pretty much all year round,and different types of fishing all week long.
