A historic cemetery, the final resting place of the famous and not-so-famous. Pay attention to the inscriptions on the stones, many of which detail the intellectual interests and specialties of those being memorialized. A map is available at a little kiosk near the main entrance, listing the most famous graves.

Many historic figures lay here. Aaron Burr probably the most famous. A wonderful place to walk, enjoying fresh air, the architecture memorials, read the tombstones and a romantic place that you can be shared with a person you wish to get to know better.

There are some very old graves here and some famous people buried here. Worth a stroll. There is typically a map available that highlights some of the more popular headstones

Caregivers was very friendly and helpful at this well maintained cemetery! You can take a self guided tour by following the map which is free! Parking spots along the way to various sites if you decide to drive instead of walking this very large cemetery! Pres. Cleveland and VP Burr are buried in this cemetery, as well as past presidents of Princeton.

I like old cemeteries and wanted to see this one. Many notable people are buried here. Parking is very limited, but you can park on the narrow street that winds through the cemetery. We found one of the few parking spots and began walking.
We picked up a map at the gate which lists the notable grave sites and where to find them. The two main ones we wanted to see were the graves of Aaron Burr, Jr., Vice President of the US (1801-1805) who is probably best known for his duel with Alexander Hamilton, and the grave of Grover Cleveland, President of the US (1885-1889) and (1893-1897). He was the only President to serve two non-consecutive terms.
However, the biggest surprise of the whole cemetery was when we got to Cleveland’s grave site and read the tombstone. It has his name, place of birth and death and the dates. Nowhere is there anything mentioning that he was a former President of the US. If you didn’t know, you might joke that he had the same name as a past President. This was just incredible to me. The only thing notable about the very plain tombstone was that there were two small flags beside it. I guess pomp and circumstance doesn’t apply in every case.
Worth a visit. Lovely cemetery.

Yes--it's a cemetery but not any 'ol cemetery. This one has some very famous people buried in it--US Presidents and other dignitaries. Grover Cleveland, Aaron Burr and others. It's also just plain pretty and when you're finished walking around, there are many of Princeton's restaurants and bars within walking distance. Even if you miss the famous people, this cemetery is very old and the tombstones are varied and interesting.

We went to see the resting place for President Grover Cleveland. The entire cemetery is beautiful. So many old headstones. Wonderful history! Go and spend a couple of hours strolling around. The area that was once "cemetery for coloreds" has a beautiful stone structure with the names of many of the people buried there listed on it. Definitely worth a visit!

My partner and I ventured here to see the final resting place of Aaron Burr, but it was a really beautiful place with a lot of other historic people buried here. The cemetery is lovely, and if you're in the mood for a solemn site full of history, I definitely recommend!
