Teriffic layout and acoustics for a concert.
We attended a recent Parlance presentation.
Sufficient parking and easy to enter and exit the venue.

I have been living in Ridgewood for 25 years and visiting the protestant church I got married in. However, the teens program was non-existent in my current church and decided to venture out into the other churches in town. My family and I did not feel welcomed at WSP. I have a teenage daughter and was hoping to get her involved in the youth program there. Didn't feel welcomed perhaps we don't live in the correct side of town.

My granddaughter has been going to this preschool for last 2 years, and I have had opportunities to visit this Church and it’s preschool. I like it for it’s manifold activities and pleasant teachers & staff. The Church Hall is used for programs. The recent one, a Christmas Holidays Concert, was a delightful event.

WSPC indeed is a welcoming church.
There are many different ways to get involved through small study groups, family activities, youth groups, etc. There is also a vibrant music environment, with bell choirs, and choirs ranging from young children to an excellent chancel choir. If you are looking for a welcoming worship experience in Ridgewood, I invite you visit West Side Presbyterian. There are 3 services; 8:45 & 10:00 am Sunday mornings, and a contemporary service on Sunday evening.
I really believe you will enjoy the worship experience @ West Side.

Westside used to be the church the local elites attended. I don't know if that's still true, but it seems to me that the town's WASP personality has let its hair way down over the years. In its previous iteration, you would have been hard-pressed to distinguish it from an Oxford Movement Anglican Church, although I doubt that they ever used incense. It had one of the most traditionally beautiful interiors in town. But all of it was destroyed by fire. When rebuilding, they didn't set out to duplicate the former building, electing to imagine it anew. With the new design came a new sensibility. The former church was a kind of spiritual sanctuary, almost private in character, with its dark, splendidly carved woodwork, richly hued stained glass, and traditional ecclesiastical design. The mystery of faith felt palpable there. None of this has been retained. Instead it has become a celebratory space that is easily and frequently turned into a performance space. It draws many people from the surrounding area not to worship but to hear music -- mostly classical -- performed. It's quite versatile. It can handle a unaccompanied soloist or a large symphonic group. Its acoustics are magnificent. Its design is nicely calibrated for musical events. The pews are padded and comfortable. There's plenty of parking. I don't know what effect the new design has had on worship, but it has definitely been a boon for Ridgewood's musical culture.

Westside has had a long history of superb music with at least eight different groups performing on a regular basis.
The acoustics are excellent from virtually any seat in the house. We like to sit in the back balcony where every note can be heard.
Over the past nine years, the Parlance Company has performed six concerts on Sunday afternoons. In honor of its 10th year, they will perform seven.
Parlance features famous world renowned musicians, using as a base the director's long service with the Metropolitan opera orchestra as Principal Flute.
We have enjoyed many of their concerts over the years and hope to hear more in the future.

West Side Presbyterian Church is a warm, welcoming place to worship, explore your faith, enjoy wonderful music (they have one of the biggest choir programs in the country), volunteer to help others and socialize with like-minded people. Many programs for children—from preschool to high school—means the youngest members of the family are part of the experience too.

The spirit and energy of this church is so warm and welcoming. The building appears austere but the congregation is inviting and friendly.
