The Church is a short walk from our hotel and we heard Mass in the morning just before leaving Pagsanjan. It was sufficiently quiet despite it being located along and very near the main road. The sound system was clear enough to understand what the priest was saying. The good thing was that one of the lay ministers, after probably recognizing that we were not from Pagsanjan, showed us the way to where a relict from Guadalupe was and is available for viewing.

We visited this church after shooting the rapids and visiting Pagsanjan Falls. It's a historical (late 17th century) church and is the oldest of the first 12 parishes in the Philippines dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe. The main church has a simple structure, but a small side chapel dedicated to St. Juan Diego's miraculous mantle (called "tilma") is very colorful and artistically designed. It's worth a visit! Also don't fail to visit the church's inner cloister. Thumbs up!

This church is claimed to be the Oldest Catholic church in the Philippines, established in 1687, and the only catholic church in Pagsanjan. The facade of the church is a magnificent, early Renaissance style architecture. The inside of the church is very impressive, with very modern facilities like TV monitors all around. The sound system though have some echoing sound and needs some improvement. The mass was very solemn, and the choir was excellent.

Another church. Worth a quick look maybe. Not much in the area besides the falls (which are not to be missed)

Went inside the parish church of Pagsanjan after lunch and we were surprised how beautiful it is inside. There are so many pockets within the church that is not visible to the churchgoers that led to its added beauty. There is a small ante-chapel right of the church which also houses the remains of previous priests. Also, there is a very inviting courtyard within the premises. Really beautiful.

Pagsanjan is one of the most visited tows in Laguna. It is small, historic and highly texturized: it's got rich natural resources (Pansanjan falls), beautiful people and historic places. One of these places is the Pagsanjan Church. Built during the 1600s, Spanish era, this church is very well-maintained.
Its parking area was able to accommodate about 20 buses.
The facade is painted white, and with the sea of people doing their visita iglesia as early as April 1, 2017, when we visited, it gave a beautiful contrast. I, however, feel that it is colored too "modern," too white and it has lost its old church charm but kudos to the maintenance of this church.

This review is quite late. The Our Lady of Guadalupe is the patron saint of Pagsanjan and the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe has been an integral part of my childhood days since we used to have a summer vacation house in Pagsanjan town. The church is so solemn although the first timer may get distracted with the beautiful interior design of the altar and of the church building.

If you are unable to visit the original site of where our Lady appeared to Juan Diego in Mexico, there are two statues of our Lady of Guadalupe here, one donated by the Catholics of Mexico (placed in the middle of the Church) and another made by Maximo Vicente placed in the main altar.
The facade of Pagsanjan church is a three-level early Renaissance styled facade with a semicircular arched main entrance, choir loft window and a three-story bell tower. A side chapel near the altar houses an image of San Juan Diego, a replica of the tilma of the Our Lady of Guadalupe and a stone relic from Tepeyac Hill, Mexico City in 1531, the site of the apparition of the Virgin of Guadalupe. The chapel is also a mini-museum containing liturgical vestments of Pagsanjeño priests.
The church is a holy door of Mercy for pilgrims and there are parishioners who will explain the history of the church to pilgrim groups.
