Locally owned, St. Bernard Ski & Snowboard has been my place to rent ski gear. If you want quality equipment, staff that takes the time to size you in boots, skis and if needed, ski jackets and bibs, this is the place to go. When you walk in the door, go downstairs for ski & snowboard rentals and upstairs to shop their well stocked store if you need to buy gloves, winter headwear, jackets, pants, socks, snow boots, sweaters or any ski items. Always friendly and the staff are the owners! Was always greeted with a smile, assistance in finding what I wanted. Love supporting this local family business.

This shop offers a great selection of ski apparel from premium name brands as well as budget friendly options. While there we were able to find just what we were looking for- ski pants and helmets. The sales clerk was friendly, helpful, and patient.

The selections and options upstairs for ski gear is un-matched in Ruidoso. The ladies upstairs are very helpful and friendly. The Downstairs rental shop has a great selection on skis and snowboards for rent or purchase! Much better equipment that any other shop in town! Great deals on new and used skis and snowboards! The guys get you in and out as quick as possible to maximize your ski time but also take their time to get everything done properly and answer and questions you have! Great Experience

As I read the other reviews its hard to believe I was at the same shop. Let me start by saying the staff in the ski shop were friendly and nice and there was a good selection of merchandise in the ski shop. I wish I could rate it separately as it would probably get 4 stars. But downstairs in the ski rental is where we ran into issues. We reserved our skis online and yes we did reserve the base package but we had a group of 6 so we reserved here based on the cost. When we arrived we were told we couldn't get skis over 140 in length with the basic package. I'm 6'2" and no way could I ski on 140s. We were not happy that this was left out of the info when we reserved skis. The older man helping us was slow as well. It took 3 of us almost an hour and no one was there when we started. We ended up having to pay an extra fee of $8/day x 3 people x 6 days just to get adequate skis. That was an extra $150 we hadn't counted on paying. The skis were just OK. We had some issues with them seeming to lose their wax pretty quick and one ski actually was so rough on the edge it cut a pretty deep gash in my hand (a first in many years of skiing). Then the part that took this down to a 1 star review was when we turned our skis in and this same older employee tried to charge us more money. One family member had gone in and gotten his skis a day after us and they gave him the same skis as us. They didn't ask if he wanted to upgrade. They didn't even tell him it was an upgrade. The man even admitted it was a mistake by one of their employees and yet he still wanted to try to charge us more money. I said no way let me speak to the owner. He finally just said something rude and we left. I have never run into anything like that in my many years of renting skis.

We are sorry to here of your problem - He is no longer with us! - I am the owner and am posting my direct cell number here so if anyone reading this ever has a problem at our store I will personally toke care of you and the problem - I can assure you that we have plenty of skis in the lower price category that are longer -

Former competitive skier and owner Ralph Rush knows what you need. By far the biggest selection of ski apparel in Ruidoso. I recently demoed and purchased a pair of skis Ralph recommended from his shop. Great pair of skis at an affordable price. No need to shop anywhere else...

I'm a huge fan of this shop !!!! not just for purchasing ski and snowboard gear , but for having skis worked on. They generally have the best prices out there on gear, and often have demo gear that can't be found anywhere else. They have done a bunch of work for me moving bindings around and the like, and have always done a great professional job. Questions via e-mail are always answered promptly and accurately as well. The staff is beyond friendly and always goes out of there way to help. Highly recommended.

Our family found every thing they needed even down to our grand baby's cloths at 6 months old- snow boots, jacket, and ski bibs for the 3 year old- the guys in the rental shop were very personable and helped us a lot - we really recommend this shop
