Watching the races is fun. We got tickets in the Turf Club and had great views of the race and finish line. However, we had a party of 3 and had to pay for a table for 4. So it was pretty expensive. It was a Friday and there were lots of empty seats so it wasn't like they were booked up. The food was just fair. They could improve their menu and food. Betting was easy. The service at the table was great. We had a very attentive waitress.

We can for tacos and tequilas on a beautiful day - but be aware if you have any alcohol you have to stay inside and aren’t permitted to sit outside on the tables in the event in the beautiful weather .

Poor Management
Unbelievable poor food and beverage manage to. Costing the track much in wagering. One old man trying to handle beers sales , make change and appearing to have yo input something in a little handheld computer
Trying to find success by raising prices and delivering bad service
Heads need to roll. Surely someone of intelligence can come up with a system that can service your customers in a more efficient manner

Have been coming to this track since I was 18. Love it but not having a smoking area is a hassle. The Turf Club is highly recommended.

Wanted to see the race trace and casino on our way around the Billy the Kid Trail. This was for sure a slow time but I enjoyed seeing Ruidoso Downs in all its glory. Enjoyed it

Great way to spend the afternoon if you like horse racing. We got the reserved seats ($15) one day and the Jockey Club ($25) the next. JC comes with valet parking included. Non reserved general admission is free and they have a free parking lot too.

We love going to the horse races. A good afternoon of family fun in the cool mountains. We always get the kids to predict who will will the race. It is always fun to watch the horses race and the kids cheer them on.

I just can’t get enough of this place and the food. They have reasonably good BBQ and numerous sides but what makes this stuff great is the view of the Lincoln National Forest! The prices of the food are the best in Ruidoso and the atmosphere there is inviting. I plan to visit every day I’m in town,

I had a great idea last summer to spend time with my grandson and escape the triple diget tempature in Texas to watch exciting horse races. We had a great time and enjoyed the cool mountian tempature. I would have hopped for a little better choice of food and the seating comfort was not great but thats just me. All and all had a great time.

Only place for many miles with live horse racing during the year, horse racing simulcasting everyday and a casino to boot! Friendly people and great service will make your day relaxing and fun. You got to give it a try when you're in the area.

How much does it usually cost for seating?

The free seats are good seats unless it rains. The $40 boxes for four people are better. The tables are behind the boxes but higher up. I like the boxes. We like the lower numbered boxes the best. The tables and boxes are under a roof.

I simply called the track to reserve a box for 4. They took my card number & we picked up at Will Call. Very easy!
