We were looking for something to do on this fine October afternoon and decided to check out the beach at Point Gartiot park. Obviously we did not go for swimming but instead just walked the beach and skipped rocks. This is a rocky beach with many good stones to skip. I read that it was a good place to find sea glass but we didn't see any. I bet this would be a great beach in the summer and if we are ever in town when it is warm I plan on going back to swim.

Went looking for beach glass, found tons of that and some seriously cool rock formations I was not expecting as well. A friend and I drove from Ohio because we were about the great beach glass on this beach, we were not disappointed. While there I was also excited as just how beautiful the beach itself was. We really enjoyed the day even though it was 42 degrees and windy as all get out! I am sure we will be back at some point.

I go to the beach here often to find beach glass and other treasurers! I alo take my dog for walks on the bike path. The bathrooms have been remodeled and there is live music occasionally. Many picnic tables, large and small pravilions and it is a great place to watch beautiful sunsets!

Point Gratiot Park was recommended by a friend, as a good place to search for beach glass. My wife & I were not disappointed. We collected a lot of beach glass. One very important recommendation, is to wear beach sandals with tough bottoms, or if you do not mind getting your tennis shoes wet, wear tennis shoes. The beach is more rocky, than sandy. I wore flip flops, and my feet hurt. Did not have time to explore the park, but what we saw driving around, it looked very nice, lots of thngs to do.

What a beautiful beach and great for beach combing. Was not very busy when we were there and was great to walk along the beach in solitude. Lake Erie can be a bit moody depending on the weather so not sure if it's very swimable.

This was a nice park to visit. We went to enjoy the beach and swim. The beach is small and filled with rocks and driftwood so if it's crowded, it may be a little tough to find a spot. It was overall nice to swim in. The bathrooms are very far away from the beach, and hard to drive to due to no signs and one-way streets. If you're not familiar with the park, it is difficult to find.

A local person told us about Point Gratiot. Lovely spot for beach combing, even swimming if Lake Erie is in a good mood. We found beautiful smooth stones and beach glass. Great for an early morning walk, either along the water or in the grassy parts of the park. Beautiful place.

My husband and I drive through the Point daily in the spring, summer, fall and when possible winter. Many Bald Eagles are seen sitting in the trees down by the Dunkirk Lighthouse. I go and sit and listen to the water and collect rocks for rock painting. If you ever get to Dunkirk The Point is well worth the drive.

Excellent for families with children and older adults , the park was just remodel with new activities for kids.

We love to beachcomb! This park is perfect for this or just walking on a beautiful level beach! Easy access onto very long beach! Very clean. Nice benches and playgrounds. Plenty of picnic tables and a few pavilions. Nice lighthouse as you exit the park. Worth a trip!
