The beach is nice, they brought in sand, so it’s not as stoney as other beach locations in this area. But the private beach is small and when it gets busy it feels really crammed. There is a bunch of water activities offered for extra price, so actual water is filled with motorized water vehicles.
Beach is next to a bar and music is blaring all day long.
It’s $5 to park and parking covers one person, everyone else in the car has to pay $3 to enter.
It’s a great place if you are in your 20s and just want to party. If you are a bit older and have kids, I’d suggest the Evangola state park 10 minutes away.

What a beautiful setting! And there are lifeguards on duty! And no glass is allowed! It was a beautiful day for us and I wanted to hand out there for several hours!

Clean beach
Which is important to me.
Shallow and no rough rocks once you get out a few feet. Very nice for young
Families. Music, store, food & drink available. I wish the bathrooms were better attended to, but really everything else was fantastic. Parking fee very fair for all you get 🌞

This location is all about the view. Get there in time to catch the sunset -- on a clear night, it's breath-taking. The food is adequate, the drinks are routine, but the outdoor eating space with the view of the sunset make this a great evening. Just time it correctly. Also, they host one of the best 4th of July fireworks shows, so check it out if you're around the area over the holidays.

I have not been to this place in over 40 years. I'm from the area but move out of state and occasionally come home to visit. Well, a family member took me here when I was home the week of June 20th. This place still rocks and the parking lot was full and plenty of people milling about. The community (Sunset Bay) is well maintained and was very festive for the start of the summer season. Nice for family's and good fun.

Nice clean beach. It has couple of clubs with DJs on the shore who play good loud party music. Management did a good job is maintaining it clean and tidy. We felt like we were at a sea shore only that we felt its more safe with small waves.

My husband and I attended a party with a friend who won a get-together through 97 Rock (along with a few other people) at Sunset Bay. The place was easy to find off the highway, but we had to ask where parking was located ( there's a lot of room across the street). It's just off the beach and perfect for viewing sunsets. There's a decent amount of seating and tables, but they fill up quickly. The bartenders make good drinks and don't scimp on the alcohol. The taco buffet was good and the music before the DJ was great, then it got too loud to talk to people. Interesting venue with drink specials, beach ambiance and various events.
