Had a nice time ice skating at the rink. We were able to walk and see the 1980 rink and skate in the 1932 rink. The outside skating area was really cool to see. It was too cold to be outside for us.

It was very interesting to see the arena that was used in the 1932 Olympics. It's interesting that half of the Olympic hockey games at that time were played outside, in the middle of the speed skating track that's next door.

I was a competitor this weekend and experienced the history of competing on the same ice used by Olympic Champions in the 1932 Games. How cool was that?

Just attended the America Cup for Short Track Speed Skating in the 1932 Arena. For many events this venue is preferable to the Herb Brooks 1980 arena due to the smaller size. Not a bad seat in the house.

Still in use today. Ice surface is very good. The facility is well maintained. Free to view. Fun to read and view the memorabilia posted in the corridors.

We have been here many times and always enjoy returning. There is just tons of history here, and it is fascinating to walk around, read many signs and plaques on the walls, and take in all of the American sports history. Public ice skating is available numerous times a week. And if there is a tournament ongoing, you can watch hockey or figure skating. That is really fun and a way to kill a good hour watching a fun sports event. And needless to say, once finished here, walk to the iconic Herb Brooks 1980 Hockey Arena for a once on a lifetime experience of absorbing all there is at this "hallowed ground" Arena, home of the Miracle on Ice. It gives you chills, no joke. David L.

As indicated in the title of the venue, this is the older of the two ice arenas in town. The seats are not the most comfortable, but they are better than just plain benches. There are no arm rests, and some of the seats seem to spill your body forward as you sit. They are molded plastic, and after a couple of hours, they tend to get hard. Otherwise, this is a basic no-frills arena.

We visited the Jack Shea Arena last July while visiting Lake Placid. My husband and I found it interesting. We enjoyed reading the history and walking around. Our older daughters thought it was boring. We are not ice skaters, but we thought it was neat to see.

We were on a recent trip to Lake Placid New York and enjoyed many aspects of past winter Olympic history. Even though 1932 was before my time, while visiting the Herb Brooks arena next door to the Jack Shea arena, the history is there to appreciate. Jack Shea arena is a stunning example of Olympic lore. The original structure and very limited seating my guess was 500 admissions just takes your breath away. Imagine the diversity of nations skating for the gold as you sit behind the goal. Take 2 hrs. and do a triple play first the Olympic museum, Jack Shea and Herb Brooks arena and you walk away with a sense of pride and excitement! They are all connected.
