After years of driving by lonergan's antiques, we stopped in. The door was open the sign said open. But we couldn't find anybody in the store. They might have been there. But there's lots and lots to see so we took our time and went room to room. Unfortunately since no one was there we were unable to buy what we liked. But will be back again next year. It offers a serious collection of militaria. It has many different items. This is not a place you can visit and see everything in one trip because after while your brain will overload because there is so much to see. We hope someone will be there next time because we wanted to buy something. Oh well will be back.

Sorry Glen that we missed you. Sometimes duty calls either the bathroom, phone calls or even sneaking a nap. We do hope you stop again. If you don't find us there, just trot across the street and knock on the door. If you let us know what you wanted to buy and it is still on the shelf, we would be happy to ship it to you. This is the most amazing shop…. A collection of EVERYTHING that you can imagine - old clothing, books, china, tools, artifacts from wars, canon balls, hinges, jewelry….and so much more. It will take patience to go through the rooms of items but if there is something that you are really looking for, Mr. Lonergan may just find it for you. My friend loves old books about Lake George and Mr. Lonergan found for her, a collection of old photos softly bound in a book for $45….. a real find. I am into post cards and I love to find old post cards that have been sent and post marked. He has them for $3-$5 (they are $10-$30 in other Lake George antique stores). I almost wanted to ask Mr. Lonergan if the Ralph Lauren folks regularly stop by to pick up unusual items to style their photo shoots. I would not be surprised. Just a caution, this is not a fancy curated store, but it is organized to some degree and patience will reward you.

Thank you for your kind review. To answer your question about Ralph Lauren. No we have not been contacted but would love the collaboration. We have sent !0 lbs. of military buttons to a NYC designer.. Happy to hear that you found something to remember us by, a postcard and a photo book. We are always on the hunt, so inventory changes, but the one thing that never changes is our desire to meet all the interesting people that walk though our doors (and that's a tight squeeze). Lonergan's has been in business for five to six decades, the whole time in one family. Location is between Hague, NY and Ticonderoga, NY on Route 9N on the west side of Lake George. We have a long time summer place on 9N in Hague and do frequent Lonergan's randomly during the summer. A fun place to take family members and friends to check out what stock Mr. Lonergan has on hand and even barter a bit to get a real treasure. Stock is all over the map: furniture, collectables, picture frames, tools, etc...you name it, he probably has it. If you are on 9N, give it a try; really fun to visit.

Thank you for your kind review. My wife Sharon has strong roots in Hague too. Her family home was at the end of Bass Bay Rd, off 9N. Jenkins Brook that crosses under 9N, is named after her great-great grandfather, John Jenkins who had a house on Split Rock Rd, where the brook originates. Glad to hear that we are on your "To do List" for friends and family every summer. Tradition is what we are all about. Craig Lonergan

We were driving along Route 9N when we saw the sign and the big red barn.
Naturally, we stopped and entered.
We were alone and as we were wondering what to do, Craig walked in and welcomed us. Craig lives across the road and saw our car stopping.
The Lonergan's Antiques store (AKA Lonergan's Red Barn Antiques) is HUGE.
If you are antique buffs you'll need a good few hours to browse around.
The collections are amazing and varied to suit all tastes and fields of interest.
Lonergan's Antiques is a family run business and was established over 60 years ago.
It is a definite MUST when you visit the Adirondacks!!
