Troy has really improved the area since I lived here. I seen a whole different part of where I grew up. Proud to see how it has really grown. This area improved but the N. Troy has increased in alot of crime. Down town Troy is beautiful, has alot of history and honors the veterans with flags through the entire city. The home of UNCLE SAM! The Waterfront Farmers' Market was happening the weekend we were there and what a great addition to my old home town. This used to be an area to stay away from now its definitely a nice place to visit again. I did miss the cobblestone roads, I can't believe they did away with them they were gorgeous and in great shape when I moved 30 years ago. This has become a very nice addition to Troy! Right on the Hudson River. So a very nice walk as well.

Well, overall the market is a great place to visit. My wife and I have spent hundreds of dollars there over the years. Mostly in the warmer months when the vendors are outside. We do buy from the shoppes as well. This is not about them. I do need to rant about one particular vendor where I spent $50 for an old Porterhouse steak. They had the "Balls" to say that their meat is fresh. This is a HUGE LIE. We purchased the steak yesterday 7/15/23. It was frozen. So, today 7/16/23 after it thawed I attempted to remove it from the plastic wrapping. I discovered that the thieves wrapped it in three separate layers of plastic wrap. Probably re-wrapped it numerous times. I can truly say that I know how to cook a steak. I seasoned it and grilled it my normal way. Five minutes per side and then tented it to rest. It was a beautiful like pink color. We tried to eat this piece of meat only to find out that there was no juice left in it at all and the fat had turned to grizzle. How dare you rip off people the way you do. I want to publish your name so bad but do not want to embarrass your young daughter. I will say that you are locater across from the Laughing farms stand whom I may add that they are GREAT!!!. You, are not.

There was a lot of farms and a variety of home-made products. I went in October so there wasn't that many fruit options other than apples and pears. They had a lot of dairy, pastries, meat, honey, etc.. The market was a few blocks long. It is nicely organized so finding products was pretty easy. There are also a few food booths from local restaurants. It's pretty nice to come here on a Saturday morning in Troy, NY. A lot of people would bring their dogs too.

What a really nice market - lots of food choices, goods choices, music playing! It was a big enough market to spend some time poking around but not so big to be overwhelming.

Huge variety of vendors. At least 4-6 farms with excellent offerings (organic included), at least 3 more selling milk, alpaca yarn, pottery, 2 honey vendors, fresh meats, soaps, lots of prepared foods and a nice area to sit and eat to the side. Music jn a couple places. Nice one way flow set up in deference to covid, presumably. Website maps show current vendors.
Excellent market, especially for those who don’t have cars and live in town or visiting.
For the prior reviewer commenting on the absence of corn, may I suggest you talk to your farmers and request they bring it the next time.

What happened?! I didn’t know farmers’ grew gyro sandwiches. There wasn’t one stall with fresh corn! I guess if you want fast food trucks, go to Troy. If you want fresh produce, go to Saratoga.

This market has excellent produce, baked goods, meat, fish, crafts and music. It is also a lively gathering place for all ages. At other times Troy seems too quiet but Saturday mornings it is hopping!

I went to this market in August with my husband and special needs adult daughter. There was something for everyone including music, food, entertainment, and products for almost every interest. Being originally from NYC and Long Island I’ve had my share of street fairs. But this one was not overwhelmingly crowded and without access between aisles, like many of them are...also the shops remain open and accessible for browsing and that made it even more enjoyable. It was like a festival more than a fair..and my only regret is that I couldn’t get back one more time before the season ended...I’ll be back next spring!

I have been a resident of Troy for 23 years, and have watched the incremental growth of the Farmer's Market from a one block small farmer's stand to the multi block Saturday morning extravaganza that it has become, and I LOVE IT!! There is so much so taste, see, hear, and touch...not only great farmer's stands with outstanding fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers, but amazing street food, artisans who make everything from soap to woodwork, and live music to serenade you as you wind your way through the delight that is downtown Troy, New York. Don't miss this sensory treasure!

The Troy Farmers' Market has something for everyone. First and foremost the varied vendors from fresh vegetables and fruits, to fresh bakery items, flowers, honey, wine, varied gift items to dairy and meat products. Then you have the live music and food trucks to choose from. And if this isn't enough you have the stores and restaurants open for your pleasure in the surrounding downtown streets of Troy. I just love it.

Can you actually get a full lunch to eat there or hot meal while at the market? How many vendors are represented? What would you suggest for a family with a couple of 30 year olds to do in the area after the market?

It's loaded with food vendors and wonderful selections. There are many shops in the area and restaurants. My guess 60 or so vendors. Produce, cheese, wine, beer, meats, baked goods, bread, candles, arts and crafts. Check out Troy Farmers Market website.
Plenty to do in the Capital region. Museum's, river cruises, riverwalks.
