I came with my family in April and Agnes ran the tour for us. We were amazed at the deep philosophical approach the family brings to the wine making process. Agnes made the tour extra special sharing with us her knowledge and history of the Château and St. Emilion. Best tour I've bee on in St. Emilion yet. Last but not least, the wine tasted amazing, only a Shame you can't get your hands on some older vintages. Thanks again Agnes and Château Coutet.

It is a very disappointing visit in my opinion. Compared to other wine tasting tours I been, this one is the one with the least depth. We had an email confirming the tour costs €7 per person, but when it came to check out they charged €9 per person. Despite showing them the email they still charged us €9 per person which is unfair and very unprofessional. Only reason why I gave one more star is simply down to the friendly lady who run the tour.

Nice family run winery in saint emilion - you can walk there from the town centre in about 20 mins.
Only 7 euros per person for the tour and tasting and the host was nice and friendly (unlike some of the wineries we visited in the region!!).

Booked a tour with this place after seeing on a vegan wine page that they had confirmed their wines were vegan (they show evidence of an email exchange between them and the vineyard). I also asked tourist information in St Emilion and they recommended this place - I didn't even mention I'd seen this one online. She advised I double check with them directly though, so did when I telephoned to book the tour. The lady on the phone said yes they were vegan. She even checked with another gentleman there. Only towards the end of the tour did the tour guide say they use egg whites to filter the wines so "I'm sorry if you're vegan". The tour itself was great and very informative, and I know it's hard to find vegan certified wines in France, especially compared to the UK where many are clearly labelled, but I felt very misled afterwards and had wasted my money. I mentioned it to the tour guide at the end and she just said there must have been a mistranslation.

A wonderfully informative tour with Agnes. She was passionate and engaging and made it fun and interesting. A lovely tour I would highly recommend! So glad we booked it, we learned a lot!

Definitely spend the extra few euros to get the private tour. George our guide was amazing, no pretence just an engaging, friendly, tour. We had a fantastic time. We learnt a lot about the wine making process, the vineyards and the history of Château Coutet. When many of the surrounding Château in the area are being sold to companies, Coutet still is owned and run by the same family for generations. Everything they do here is to stay true to their traditions. They broke the mould when it came to producing and that means that they can truly say their wine is organic. Came away with a bottle to save in our personal wine cabinet for a special day far in the future.

Beautiful chateau. Fabulous views. Gorgeous wine. An amazing tour guide. We really enjoyed our time here. A short walk from St. Emilion with amazing views on the way! Our guide was beyond helpful. Amazing experience. I never write reviews but I felt strongly about this. Thank you so much!!

We had a great private tour that guided us through the entire process of making biological wine in Chateau Coutet. The guide was super friendly and knowledgeable about all the aspects of winemaking and provided a broader context of the surrounding flora and soils. It is recommended for all wine lovers!

Nous avons passé un super moment. Nous avons eu la chance d'avoir une visite uniquement pour nous. Notre guide était souriante, chaleureuse, à l'écoute et transmettait son savoir avec passion ! Puis l'histoire du château Coutet et de son vin vaut le détour

Great opportunity to see real-life, smaller-scale organic vineyard. Long history, including oldest Bordeaux bottle still containing wine, from 1700's. Very friendly. Not our all-time favorite wine, but very good drinker and much more enjoyable tour than the big fancy wineries that struck us as cold, overly capitalized - and unfortunately perfected via chemical usage.

Hello, without a rental car, what’s the best transportation method to take from Bordeaux city center? Also, are you open on Sundays and Mondays in September (ie Sept 22, 23)? What are your hours? Thank you.

I don't know about hours, but the best way to get there would be a bus to St Emilion and then a cab. They are very nice and passionate about the vineyard and the wine is delicious

I contacted the winery directly per telephone same day. I would recommend making the appointment per phone or email with a little more advanced notice ;). The tour lasted around an hour and included a tour of the tank room, barrel room, private wine cellar and a wine tasting. A visit to the vineyards is also normally included, but we did not go because of rain. Highly recommend! I am guessing they would waive the fee if you pures bottle or two. Best wishes!
