Lift lines prohibitively long - 30 minute wait. I did four runs over two and a half hours and then left. Too much waiting for me. Good runs, conditions were pretty good. Other than crowds this would be a nice place.

Windham mountain is run by a bunch of idiots. Management has no clue what there doing. The food they sell is absolutely garbage, it's premade they just boil the bags and serve it to you. Oh those chicken tenders your kids love are 15$ for 3 pieces and some fries. I would highly recommend not spending any money here. They have no respect for there employees or customers. I'd go to Hunter Mountain.

Windham is no longer a sweet family ski mountain. The prices are waaaayy over the top for what this mountain has to offer. They are clearly trying to become an elite destination with not much to offer for the price. The vibe is changing in a very negative direction on multiple levels. Sad to see such a wonderful mountain turn into an overpriced place filled with nasty people. Shame on the owners - Karma will get you!!
P.S - Restaurants are following with prices!! Not a good business model…the elite will go to better ski areas - as they should (if they want to get value for their buck! ). Restaurants already unable
to remain open due to staff shortages and they think raising prices is the answer….

I've been skiing since the 60's and skied Windham a lot over the decades. They are now catering to the wealthy and way over priced for what this mountain has to offer. I ski to enjoy the outdoors, the trails, the people. I don't need the million dollar mansions and valet parking. It used to be easy to park and walk to the lodge, put on your gear and hit the slopes. Now its a major ordeal to drop off your gear, find a parking spot and get a shuttle just so they could put a huge condo building in front of the mountain. I guess I shouldn't be surprised given Randy McDonald was a managing partner. I will take Plattekill over Windham any day. And if I head up north, Gore has so much more to offer than this place and at good prices.

During the summer, Windham is not a great place to stay in the Catskills. The town goes into maintenance mode for the next winter seasonand vacationers by their mere presence appear to be an annoyance to the local population.
The summer hiking paths, like Windham Path, are nice, but there are so many better hiking options just minutes away. Similarly, while there are a few interesting arts and crafts places and a couple nice places to eat (the new Brambles cafe and restaurant on Rte. 296, for example), Windham is not worth an overnight or longer stay.
Shops are unfriendly and dishonest to visitors. For example, the Hickory Hill Market on Rte. 23 overcharged us on almost every purchase we made there during a stay of several weeks. They charged at least 10% above list prices without explanation and a very unpolite response when asked why they are not charging the marked prices.
Hotels and guest houses also charge ridiculously high prices for a out-of-season experience. During winter Windham is not bad for a low altitude basic ski location, but during the summer it is a ripoff for anything but a dirt cheap vacation if you are lucky enough to find an open hotel or AirBnB that charges fair prices. Summer hotel rooms should run between $50 and $110 a night depending on the quality of the property. Longer stay apartments should not costs more than $300 to $500 a week for a two bedroom during the summer, but usually more is asked.
My advice is avoid Windham during the summer months.

Am very unhappy, windham raised senior passes 83% from the 21-22 to the 22-23 season. Guess they dont like smelly old people on the mountain. Skied there since 1983 and the 83% raise is a kick in the teeth. Funny that college season passes are $500 cheaper than senior passes. Passes for those under 65 are $1600 a year 22-23.
Seems that windham will only be catering to professional elites going forward.
Their greedy and and Chip Seamon ceo should be ashamed treating 39 year customers in this way.

Invest in lighting!!!
I get it, it’s expensive. But I think it would reduce crowds by opening different pricinh options allowing families to choose to ski at different times. The reason Windham gets a lot of long waits in the review section is because people have only one available time to ski between 9:00am to 4:00pm. That’s it, not rocket science.
Jiminy Peak there are rarely lines and people ski from 8am to 10pm with a multitude of restaurants, shops, a small grocery store, and a cafeteria to boot all at the base. A smaller resort but a true resort. Windham simply doesn’t offer enough to reduce the congestion at every turn.

This is clearly the better of all the mountains in the area. Nice campus and interesting terrain for all levels of abilities. The snow base was clearly maintained the best.

East Summit chair not functioning properly - quad mid-mountain closed… very crowded, Staff does not care…. and had no information about when or if the chairs would open as the day progressed. The mountain is packed with skiers and the Six chair line is very long!

Took the kids snowtubing here and it was the worst we have been to. Two hours window for (barely) 5 rides on the smallest snowtubing hill I have been to. Disorganized and understaffed with overwhelmed teenagers (who mainly tried hard). Lots of standing around in line for a 15 second ride. The one plus was a relatively nice warming hut / snackbar my wife could wait in close by.

Update: I was here January 2020 wanting to xc ski. I ask at Windham resort, none knows. I go to the address of the ski place and there's nothing. I tried calling when I arrived but the automated one only allows you to leave a message. I get a call 3 hours later, "Oh the xc place is closed." Gee you couldn't post that on the site page? It's fraudulent.

First timer here. I will be visiting with my 16 & 20 year old. Is this an affordable all inclusive resort? I will like the food sking snow boarding etc included. I think Rocking Horse is for families with younger kids. I was considering High Peaks Resort and then sking etc at Whiteface. TFS

Hi Elisha! Yes, we do offer "ski & stay" packages, starting at $85 during the week and $130 on the weekends. They include lodging at our Winwood Inn, your lift ticket, breakfast and a a shuttle from the Inn to the base lodge. These options will be on our website as winter approaches. Looking forward to seeing you!

What are the easy blue trails at Windham ski resort?
GinaDC
Montclair, NJ13 مساهمة
Coming late to this question, but figured I'd answer anyway...
The easiest blue is probably Upper Wraparound, which comes down from West Peak via A lift. It's a nice, fun, long blue that connects to a green (Lower Wraparound, which has terrain park features you can use or avoid) or a turnoff to another fairly easy blue, Whiskey Jack. Lower Wipeout is also pretty easy--almost green level IMO.
Waltz, Wizard, Wrangler, and Whistler and Warpath Chute are short chutes leading from the top of West Peak/Upper Wraparound to some of the slightly harder blues, Upper Warpath/Wiseacres/Whistler/Whirlwind. The first three are blues but never groomed, narrow and steepish, and have a tendency to get icy before the rest of the mountain as they get blown off easily. Whistler Chute is a black and is also rarely groomed; it's not super steep but narrow and again can get icy quickly. Warpath Chute does get groomed and is the easiest connection to the Upper/Lowers.
Coming from Warpath Chute, you'll hit Upper Whistler first. There's a steepish bit at the top that can be intimidating, especially when skied off/blown off, but it's not super long and after that the rest of the Upper/Lowers are moderate blues; not as easy as Wraparound but not too hard.
I have no idea why Wall Street and Upper Wall Street are even classified as blues, because they're practically flat in most places. Maybe because they only connect blues and blacks?
The "blue/blacks"--Windfall, Wolf's Prey, World Cup and Wildcat--are much harder. I honestly think they're more challenging than what's probably the easiest black trail, Why Not. Why Not is wide with plenty of room to turn for the intermediate skier working on trying steeper trails, while those blue/blacks are much narrower on their steeps.
There are no blues on East Peak--only one long green, otherwise single blacks and the blue/black World Cup.

Hi,
I have couple of questions.
In march does this location usually have natural snow or artificial? Is good for families around spring break time?
Thanks
Brooke M
Windham, نيويورك
Hello! We can't predict natural snowfall for the upcoming season - we wish we could! :) We can, however, promise you that we have state of the art snow-making equipment that will make sure our mountain is covered as long as temperatures permit. It's a great place for families - we've got skiing and snowboarding, snow tubing, ice skating, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and and zip lines. Hope to see you soon!
