THE most beautiful campus I've ever seen. We were on a road trip, but since we had our high school kids with us, we stopped at most universities along the way just so they could get a glimpse of different campuses. Duke University was by far the most beautiful one. The architecture, the grounds, everything is amazing. We were there during the Christmas holidays so the book store was closed, but we were still able to buy some gear at another shop in town. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Beautiful campus, nice walking tour. Helpful visitor center. 2 dollars for parking. Highly recommended.

Every aspect of the campus is well taken care of, manicured green space, majestic buildings, campus design gave a sense of safety yet open space

A breathtakingly beautiful college campus! We enjoyed the chapel, the Sarah Duke Gardens, and just wandering around the campus. Definitely worth visiting.

The Duke campus is gorgeous. We toured it ourselves but loved seeing the Gothic architecture and the beautiful gardens.

We enjoyed our visit to Duke University. Beautiful campus. It was during covid so we did not enter any buildings. Impressive facilities. Really taken by how small Cameron Indoor Arean is....wish we could have gone inside.

My daughter and I visited the campus together. The visitors center was easy to find and the people who helped us get our bearings were excellent. We walked all over the place, met great people and saw the most beautiful campus and gardens. My daughter fell in love with this place. The chapel was full of history. The athletic campus was first rate. I highly recommend a visit if you’re in the area.

I enjoyed every bit of my trip to Raleigh NC. It was my very first time and I had a very good time. I finally was able to visit Duke University and that place is so beautiful. Well kept. Beautiful buildings and a very huge campus. Love it.

Hi all!
I'm heading to a Duke game in November from Canada. Tickets are brutal to get of course. Any insight about Seat Geek? I'm fearful of spending money on airfare and hotel and then the ticket being stolen or fake. Any help is appreciated!

I went to their first game against Army. I purchased the general admission tickets where you are in the Cameron Crazies section. They were like $79 each.

Where can you park that you do not have to pay a fee when visiting the Duke University? Paying $2.00 per hour is not good. It is more than the beach! LOL!

Is there a way to get a tour of the basketball stadium?

Unfortunately Cameron Indoor Stadium has become quite famous due to the frequency of games broadcast on TV and streaming and many people want to see inside even when no event is happening. In recent years it has been locked and you may be able to get into one of the front doors but only see some of the new exhibits that are in the old original small lobby. There is then a new wall and new inside doors that are locked. Thus, the days of being able to simply walk into CIS and look around seem to be pretty much over. I was there one week ago from tonight for a game and once in the place is pretty free wheeling still, but it is not open to simply walk through. It was at one time common, especially on football Saturdays to just walk right on it, even sit for a while, etc. It appears to be the price of fame that access is very limited now. Women’s basketball and volleyball games are held in CIS and are very affordable or even free, you may want to look at the athletics site and attend an event other than men’s basketball and enjoy the old but somewhat magical experience of Cameron. Getting tickets to men’s basketball is not easy and can be very expensive. It is worth it if you love college basketball to maybe splurge on tickets thru a third party broker. It can get very loud for certain games like UNC, NC State, Virginia and Florida State if you are sensitive to loud noise, to the point where your ears can actually “ring” a bit, but not so much for many other games. Hope this helps.
Can we come visit and see the university, chapel and Cameron stadium at any time, or do we have to book a tour?

You can see the university at any time. The chapel is generally open unless there is a private event such as a wedding. The closest you'll get to Cameron is probably the attached Hall of Fame and Museum. The interior of Cameron is not included in most campus tours, absent a special connection. The HoF is totally worth it, though.

Hello there,
I am trying to plan a surprise 40th for my husband to seek Duke play in Feb. Do you have recommendations of things we must do and see aside from the Basketball game? Any help is appreciated.

Im am trying to surprise my son with tickets to a Duke mens basketball game for Christmas. I was wondering if the campus and basketball museum is open during Christmas break. Also what would the most convent affordable priced hotel to stay in ?

Can't tell you about those two places but you should be able to find out via phone or online. We stayed at the LaQuinta Inn and Suites south of campus. Loved it! Very attractive, well-maintained, decent chain breakfast, helpful, and near a number of restaurants including a Red Lobster. Has microwave, fridge and small coffeemaker. We initially stayed there because they do not charge for dogs but we're quite pleased. Paid less than $100.00 for room (can't remember exactly) in late May but not sure if this changes by season or local events.

I am a Dukie......so I love being on campus if only to go on Science Drive and to the different areas. I love the Sarah P Duke Gardens. I love the Chapel.

I went to The Sarah P Duke gardens last spring. The flowers were labeled and were in FULL bloom. The path is firm and down-graded, for wheel chairs. The chapel has spectacular windows and there are three organs. I went during a practice for the Sunday Service. Jane H.
