Flowering trees and shrubs are abundant, expect lots of color when blooms open. Ducks and turtles live at the pond, so soothing to watch them paddle around. Make sure to walk up the path to the grotto-like area. Kudos to the city of Lenoir for providing and maintaining such a beautiful area!

The Broyhill Walking Park is a hidden gem. It is a beautiful area to stroll around. The side garden is beautiful. There are so many areas to take beautiful pictures!

There weren’t many people at the park, those that were there were enjoying it. They we’re walking on the shady side of the parks walk way or just observing the geese or ducks and other wild life from the observation deck. This is where we saw all the turtles and schools of fish around the dock. The geese and ducks seem to follow us from location to location as to looking for a handout. Feeding any of the animals are prohibited in this park because it makes the animals dependent on humans.
The cobblestone steps that lead up to the trail areas overlooking the park are uneven so make sure you have your footing as you climb the steps for, they can become unstable, these particular areas are not handicapped or wheelchair accessible, the rest of the park is however.
The steps that lead up the trails as well as along the walking paths have resting benches to sit under a shade tree in order to take a break and enjoy the scenery.
Nice tranquil location overall.
The only other item that’s in need of mentioning is to watch where you walk, for there are live animals about and so are their droppings.

This is such a lovely park! We visited Lenoir for the day and came here after lunch to walk around. Our daughter liked seeing all the geese and turtles in the pond. Our GPS tried to take us down a wrong way one way gated exit from the golf course on 321, so we had to drive around to the real entrance on Lakewood Circle. There is plenty of free parking, lots of benches, and restrooms at the back of the paved walking path.

Small walking park, typically somewhat busy. Great place to take your leashed pets. It has clean restrooms beautiful landscape and pretty flowers.

This is a beautiful place, perfect for meditative walking. Lovely flowers, trees, fountains and waterfalls. Trip around the loop is about a quarter mile.

Great location to take a walk among scenic surroundings. Looking at wild life, geese’s, ducks, turtles and fish can be seen in abundance as you stroll around this short 1/3 mile walkway. Multiple seating locations to rest as you make your rounds with rest rooms available half way around the pond. Many varieties of flowers, plants and trees add to the beauty of this walking park. Not only is it a great pedestrian location but is also a great place to walk your leashed pet. It may take several trips around the pond to get in your exercise routine but it is a convenient and safe place to walk for all ages. Please don’t feed the wild life signs are posted but many bring along bread crumbs to feed both fish and ducks.
Enjoy your walk just minutes away from down town Lenoir. Great place to exercise during your lunch time break.

A nice park with diffdrent plants. A short paved path takes you around a small lake with birds and turtles.

This is the best walking park in Caldwell County. The GPS can take you to this park which is off of Highway 321 in Lenoir NC. There is ample parking, there is a shelter for protection from the elements, There are waterfalls and rocks and bushes and trees for excellent picture backgrounds. There is geese and birds and other small wildlife for those who love to take pictures. This is a must for wedding picture or senior prom pictures or just everyday family group pictures. There are public restrooms available and plenty local hotels, restaurants and other unique places within 1/2 mile of this park. Of course the best time to visit is the spring when the flowers and bushes are blooming or the fall when the colors of the leaves are red, orange, brown, yellow, gold and so vivid that they seem alive and brilliant against the Carolina Blue Sky !! Of course the best part of this park is that you can visit absolutely at no cost......it is free to those who take the time to stop. Will you take time to stop ???
