Great water park with options for all ages. Not too crowded and plenty of parking. Get there early if you want a chair in the shade - they go quickly. We rented a cabana and service was pretty good. Would have been nice if alcohol could be ordered from the cabana. Note that all food ordered in the cabana will automatically include 20% gratuity - which was well earned by the attentive staff. Highly recommended - we will be back again.

Great day as a family with 8yo boys. We all had a blast. There was plenty to do- good options for all ages.
Staff/lifeguards were well-trained, friendly and professional. Lots of eating options and tables. Food was reasonably priced and pretty good.
Although most lounge chairs were taken by other families saving them with towels, there were free ones scattered about and we didn’t really need lounge chairs anyway because we were so busy. Lockers are $15 or $20 for unlimited access all day depending on the size.

Lifeguards harass you. They feel empowered but are half my age. Don’t allow any outside food or beverages but yet don’t have options to accommodate my 6 year olds plethora of allergies .
Caleb the life guard antagonized me. I was told I couldn’t vape in the area I was in; acknowledged it and then the entire staff proceeded to point me out and I stopped vaping when I was told the first time but yet 2 others found it necessary to come over and speak to me as if I’m a toddler;
Don’t worry :) we won’t be back y’all suck on customer service

Clearly, this waterpark is the cleanest we have EVER seen. Employees were courteous, each and every one of them. Food was ok. Lifeguards diligently watched over pools and rides. Our teens loved the tubes. Will definitely be back!!

Most of our 12 family members came to the park early. The rest of us came to the park after playing a nearby golf course. I had not planned to ride anything in the park so I didn't take appropriate clothing and planned to simply watch the family. At the ticket boot I explained I would only be watching. The ticket window girl said she would still need to charge me for a ticket. I did point out again that I would not be riding anything. I was told again I must purchase a full priced ticket. H2Obx, you just lost future business from this family.

We had a blast at the water Park, as we do every year. We are long time residents and always visit when family is in town. The deluxe cabana is the way to go. We went on a Saturday which turned out to be great,not too crowded. I would highly recommend for a day of good family fun for all ages.

We were staying in Nags Head while on vacation this past July and of course, our two young children began complaining a few days into our trip about being bored of swimming in the ocean ( I will NEVER understand the minds of these kids sometimes...) So my wife suggested we check out H20BX after passing it on the way in. It was easily one of the best decisions on this trip and the most fun I've had a water park ever!
Tickets were more than fair from Groupon ( about a $40 discount) and we made it there within roughly 25mins, traffic included. From the first ride we hit ( Queen Anne's Revenge) it was non-stop with our kids and wore us out pretty good ( hey, I AM middle aged). But we had a blast on every single ride and never had to wait any significant length of time to get on one ( probably at the most was 20mins for the longest line and others rushed thru quickly).
I loved them all, even some of the kiddie ones ( yes, I rode kiddie slides too lol) but my favorites were Storm Chaser, Rogue Wave, Wild Horse Run and Paradise Plunge ,easily.
We are scheduled to return again to the OBX this year and have already purchased advanced one-day tickets because our kids made it clear that was their only demand!

I mean who could ever tire of the beach but if you are looking for an alternative activity I suggest H2)BX.
I am native american with an olive complexion. My 2 grandchildren are of Irish decent with red hair and paper white skin. For this reason I decided to rent a cabana for the day.
My children, grandchildren and myself visited the park July 4th. It was a beautiful day and the sun was shining brightly and hotly. The park was pretty much at capacity but things were running smoothly.
I was not feeling particularly well and later realized I had a covid variant. The cabana was a life saver. It had a couch, a love seat and 2 chairs. I was sure glad there was a couch because I spent most of my day there (and asleep). The cabana came with a server who checked on us every so often. Fresh fruit and snacks were delivered in mid afternoon. There was a refrigerator stocked with water.
I did spend the rest of my time on the lazy river or in the kids area. My adult people with me rode the other rides. The park lines were manageable. A variety of rides offered entertainment and fun for all ages.
The park was clean. The food was pretty much standard fare for this type attraction--burgers, pizza, fries, salad. etc. Ample restrooms scattered about. A bathhouse was available.
Great fun was had by all.

We purchased the vacation pass and was pleased that the process was much improved from 2019 when we last did the vacation pass. Gone is the annoying wristband and it is replaced by a photo ID that they create. Very smooth. The park is well maintained and has something for all ages. We had a blast. Unfortunately some of the things we wanted to do were closed due to a lack of staff. Wish they had rotated which things were closed so that at least one of the 4 days we went we could have done them. Overall I recommend the vacation pass for anyone who wants to have a great outlet for the kids. We went 4 days and spent between 2-4 hours there each time depending on what we were doing.

No. When I visited I often left my flip flops at the bottom of the stairs leading up to a ride, or set them on a chair nearby.
Can you leave the waterpark to eat in your car if you wanted to pack your lunch for the day?

Hi, it honestly depends on the slide. The open slides at Sandpail beach are allowed to have a lap child with the parent.
When does the park open in 2019

I would guess around Memorial Day. Most water parks seem to open first on the weekends and then for the entire week for the summer season. Check their website for 2019 information. If it’s not posted, I would suggest contacting the office.
