Really enjoyed visiting the temples on this mountainside. It was a nice day trip walking from the Lete Youth Hostel. You can also hike past the temple up to some great views of the city!

不畏寒風上來南山公園就是為了看西寧夜景，從大門爬個十來分鐘就可到頂，上面設置了不少的觀景台可從不同角度看到在山谷中的西寧市區精華區；但推薦駕車前來，晚了山上沒包租車也打不到車走下去要一個鐘頭。

Nanshan mountain park is at top of the city from where you can see the panoramic view of the whole city. But it’s too windy. Park is quite big, toilets are there and some food stall also there. Taxis can go up till the parking.

Отличное место для прогулки на пол дня или на целый день. Очень красивая уйгурская пагода, женщинам правда вход запрещён. Отличный новый городской парк. А так же маленький буддийский монастырь школы Сакья. Если получится договорится с местным смотрителем: можно попасть в три маленьких павильона с очень древними экспонатами тибетской культуры!

We caught bus 17 from the city to the base of Nanshan Mountain and walked up. It took about 40 minutes although at one stage the path was blocked and we had to climb around a large barrier. It was obvious that many others had done this too. There are lovely gardens and terrific views from the top but beware of the toilets as they are disgusting ( at least the only ones we saw were)

I ran in this park for many years. I love the variety of flowers and trees. Also mountaintop park so very nice views. Nice smooth and clean pathways. Bikes for rent, playgrounds and food vendors. Small enough to know your way around in just a few visits yet large enough to visit and find something/ someplace new to relax, picnic or run.

【TIPS】其实就是一个西宁市民晨练和休闲的地方，可以俯视西宁全貌。如果要去，可以打车直接上山顶（有时候司机说不能上，比如我就碰到了，但实际是可以的），公交车只到山脚下，你需要走盘山公路+步道上去。那边的树林里有些石凳，很多市民在那里野餐。
门票：15元（凤凰亭门票，网上查到，没实地考证）

Visited the temple which is built up a small mountain and as one climbs new buildings are presented. This a typical Budd's temple and there are several different buildings to enjoy. It's medium sized and as one climbs city views are also revealed. Best done on a clear sunny day to get the best views. It's free, but one can make donations and buy incense and candles to light and pray. The temple had a nice range of potted flowers in August and takes a about 1-2 to see most of the buildings. Depending on where you hotel is located the temple is near a. Is stop and there are lots of taxis nearby if needed.

Avoid weekends if possible as it's rather busy then. Many shaded areas with mature trees and benches and places to picnic. It's a steep walk up to the top of the mountain but a taxi or tuk-tuk can take you to the top. The piped music does rather spoil the tranquility though.
Pleasant enough place to enjoy and ice-cream and wander around the pathways.
No entry charge if you arrive on foot, I'm not sure if the car park is free though.

Hi! For visit to Xining tourist need Chinese visa only, or permit to travel to Tibet is also required?
