We stopped in Maryborough on our way to Hervey Bay.
I had looked this up on tripadvisor before we left Brisbane and decided to visit on our way through and so glad we did
Excellent display and so detailed. Every room told a different story. Everything was so clean and dust free. We were blown away with how good it was.
We even got a seniors discount on the entry fee. We could have stayed longer then we did but it does close at 3:30 and we had to continue on our drive to Hervey Bay.
Well worth a visit, so do yourself a favour and don't miss it.

The building itself has been beautifully restored but then add the story of an amazingly imaginative lady. Each floor highlights her life and creativity. Worthy of a visit by adults or children.

Recommended by a family member otherwise we never would have known about this. A beautiful little museum set up in honour of PL Travers who wrote Mary Poppins and was born in this building. It is very well done for a small rural museum. We were pleasantly surprised and loved it! We will return and bring my Mary Poppins mad niece next time.

What an amazing place. So interesting and interactive. I really recommend a visit. I came with a group of adults but I can't wait to go back with some children. I haven't found all the mice yet.

Totally worth it for any Mary Poppins fans or history buffs. He museum is totally interactive with so much for the kids(and big kids) to do. The staff are amazing and super friendly. There is so much information for the adults to read through while the kids explore and play. I can't recommend this enough!

Visited on Sunday 26th February, I enjoyed seeing what they have done with this old building by incorporating Mary Poppins into its fabric.

This was such a surprise. We were only driving through Maryborough on our way to Hervey Bay but had some time to kill. It was a very hot and humid day but the Story Bank is fully air conditioned and a great way to spend some time. Each room is very well set up and really brings the story of Mary Poppins and the author to life. You don’t have to be a huge fan of the books to appreciate the author’s life. Well worth a visit.

I spent 3 hrs here. The stories are amazing. And the way they Have portrayed PL Travers writer of Mary Poppins is so clever.
Loved the place, Loved The Experience. Literature and storytelling at its best. 10/10

This was a fantastic exhibition which I will admit was enjoyed more by my wife than me, and I enjoyed it. The displays were well set out. The interaction was very good. I will have to watch the movie now to understand my wife's excitement. Great value at $15 an adult. I think it is a must see attraction if you are ever in Maryborough.

I tingled with anticipation... remember when you were little and you couldn't sleep on Christmas Eve... the anticipation was almost too much to bear. You knew on Christmas Day that everything good in your limited view of the world was going to occur... people would love, people would care, people would share - there would be love, light and laughter and it was guaranteed because there was something about Christmas!
I woke early on the 28th June, showered, dressed, checked my maps... re-checked them...I remembered the advice from the motel managers... go to the end of the street, there is parking. I drove into the carpark, surprised that there were only a few cars ... slipped out of my car anticipating my day... and looked at my phone. Hmmmm... shortly after 7... well it's too early to go to the Story Bank, but it gave me time to walk through Queens Park and look around... just after 9 I figured I might still be a tad early, so I went for breakfast.
I left Toast Cafe and walked around the block ... the building is an old bank, and it's beautifully restored. I entered disregarding the noisy group of children around me...I paid and began my adventure... it was supercalifragilisticexpialidocious to be here!
I was about to have a dose of Poppins ... and we all know that a spoon full of sugar makes the medicine go down in the most delightful way. It turns out that anything can happen if you let it. Everything is possible, even the impossible... you do follow, yes?
With Poppins memories drifting in and out of my memories I found this experience to be practically perfect in every way.
Why complicate things that are really simple? Let yourself return to the wonder of childhood and enjoy this experience because there are truly delightful corners here that are worth exploring.
