Very interesting, but a very small room. Lots of vintage wedding gowns. $6 entry a little pricey for a quick look ( all you have time for on a bus tour). Interesting concept in the outback.

This amazing collection of Lace items is not to be missed for anyone interested in the history of lace making and how it was used. Allow plenty of time to browse, there is a huge amount to see

Would have loved to have visited inside but unfortunately due to limited opening hours it was closed on our visit. Check opening hours before planning to avoid disappointment.

I was most surprised to find that I enjoyed my visit to this place. I wouldn't normally have chosen this particular one but went in with a group of fellow travellers. Our tour guide Sheena was most informative and educated me about the history and variety of laces - most of which I had been unaware of previously. A practical aspect to the displays the range of lace wedding dresses. The range of designs, eras and skills was most impressive.

Ignore the Wildlife Park and visit the Lace Place. Totally unassuming but pleasantly surprising. The presentation of equipment and process of creating lace was amazing. I had a good chat with my daughters about how the knowledge and skills required in that time are akin to computer programming, robotics and graphic design, but in a very tactile format.

I was very impressed with the museum. It's all about lace. There were many older wedding gowns on display and I liked to see that. The lace brought back memories when I was a child. There are also drawers full of lace. The lighting is a bit dim because bright lights can do damage to fine lace. The museum was built in 1990 to house the Blackburn collection. Mrs. Blackburn was interested in history and lace. A time went on she added family inherited pieces to the collection. The musuem costs $5AUD to enter.

This exhibition of lace bought back memories of my childhood watching my mum and sister patiently working away on their "handy work", making lace doilies etc.
Some excellent workmanship and beautiful pieces on display and worth a look for any of the "crafty" ladies out there.
Buying a combined pass at the shop gets you into all the attractions for $15.

The collection here of lace is absolutely beautiful. All hand made over the centuries. Such a huge collection. This is a must see if in the area.

We went to view the lace and were lucky enough to be guided by Olwyn...a master lace maker renowned in her chosen craft/art. Olwyn told us both the history of the museum itself and of the lace. There are drawers and drawers of it. It is beautifully displayed and like any good museum the lighting is not bright as light damages such delicate fabric.Olwyn held us spellbound for well over an hour showing us special pieces,one she herself had made of the Old Mill at South Perth. We could have spent hours looking at the delicate works of art. And the entry cost ...a measly $5 each...bargain of the year!

Finding this at Wave Rock was completely unexpected. The displays are amazing. Well worth the $5, even if you are not really into lacework.
