Hanes Mall is a large mall or shopping complex. There is a huge selection of shops for the shopaholic. A large assortment of restaurants and fast food. Something for everyone

People are nice it was clean the only time we had a problem was at Chick-fil-A they were very mean I have anxiety and it's very hard for me to talk and I was trying my best and they were saying to speak up and that I'm not a baby

If you had asked me a few years ago if I would recommend Hanes mall, I would have said no. You never saw security, the mall was super gross, and it just did not feel safe! However now, every time you go you are GUARANTEED to see security, the mall is a little cleaner (still kinda gross tho) but it just feels safer! I went again recently and saw at least 3 different security officers in the hour and a half I was there. Then when I went to leave I couldn't find my car, I called the security and asked for help, in under five minutes there was an officer there, the nice young man drove around the entire parking lot and found my car for me, then he came in his car and drove me over to my car! My only complaint is the number for security was hard to find, I could no find it anywhere on the mall website, I had to go to the mall office and get a business card. There are still plenty of good stores in this mall and it's definitely worth going to!

Great mall. Safe environment with shopping options for everyone.

Have not been in Hanes Mall in over 5 yrs. Me and my wife used to go there on Fri. or Sat. night and walk around shopping, also eating there. This was back in the late 80's or early 90's. There was really very little problems there back then. Now its nothing but a collection point for all the hood rats. I would not go back in there if you gave me the merchandise for free. Stay Away !!! As far as that goes Winston-Salem is nothing but a toilet nowdays !!!!!!!

I live in the area and do not go to Hanes Mall unless I have to. Night time has been dangerous for some time but in the last couple of years crime has increased so much that it's treacherous at all times. Unaccompanied women get accosted in the parking lot and in some of the less traveled side hallways. There was a fatal shooting a few months ago. Also most of the good stores are gone now with the exception of a Pottery Barn and Williams Sonoma.

We haven’t visited this mall for several years and was quite surprised how nice it has been kept up. The stores and mall were very clean and even the restrooms were very clean. It is a very large mall and has lots of good stores.

I lived in this mall from a teen through most of my adult years and I loved the stores. Many stores have closed or moved and the new clientele brings in a totally different crowd. It use to be families, parents out shopping waiting on an outside the mall restaurant or a great girls trip of shopping to you drop. They have raised the rent so high that my second favorite store Godiva closed it's doors instead of caving to the high increases. They had been in the mall since it opened. I still go to the mall about once a month to Macy's. I park outside Macy's and I don't go anywhere except for Macy's. I no longer feel safe at the mall. The security has went downhill. I don't know if they are afraid of the trouble makers or their hands are tied. It's pretty bad considering I use to love to shop there but I don't feel safe walking through it or even being in the parking lots. There was a shooting over the summer outside of one of the restaurants across from Belk in in the parking lot. Best advise I can give is find somewhere safer to go or buy online.
I drive 2 hours to South Park mall in Charlotte. It is safe, has all the stores I lost at Hanes Mall like Godiva along with many more I thought were only in big cities like New York. Another option is the Tanger Outlet Mall in Burlington about an hour away which is also well patrolled, has many different stores and many free standing big name stores near by as well as many choices in restaurants. NC still has great options they are just no longer in my hometown.

Spoke to someone who knows the mall manger personally who he confirmed The Cheesecake Factory is coming to the property. Don’t know if the mall itself is getting it or if it’s on the outside but it is confirmed..some can deny all they want but it’s coming!! Get ready!!

I didn't realize there was another section to the mall until we walked through JC Penneys. I found some nice deals on shoes, sports paraphernalia, VICTORIA Secret, and children clothes. Unfortunately, Sears and Crazy 8 stores were permanently closed. So they really need to find another popular store to take its place. There was a wide variety of restaurants to choose from in the food court. The philly cheesesteaks and strawberry lemonade from Charleys were DELICIOUS!! I would like to visit this place again when I'm in the area.

Are all of the stores still open? I've heard reports a bunch of stores and restaurants inside the mall have closed. Can anyone confirm this?
