Staff very helpful, so many items to look at. Well organized. Enjoyed the upper view and then walking down on the portable stairs.

This is definitely a nice little hidden gem. What makes this place shine is its core substance - incredible aircraft on exhibit and being able to get so close to them - including a full-size, blueprint-matching Wright Brothers flier reproduction! We give this place 5 stars for delivering on that. We know attractions like this typically survive year to year with slim budgets, but if there were grant money or some generous benefactors, this could be a really spectacular space if it had assistance with some aesthetic and design upgrades as the mismatched framed items on the walls and dated approach to entry room displays don’t do it justice, and adding some interactive displays (a couple of realistic flight simulators, a display letting people experiment with the principle of “lift,” etc.) could really take it to the next level. But don’t let that deter you - this is a must-stop and see!

Average trip. We arrived at approximately 11 am and made our way towards the entrance to buy our admission tickets. There was a small room right as we walked in, that contained many artifacts related to the wars in the past century. Next, we went into a large hanger to check out several commercial airplanes out for display. For several of the airplanes, there were small informational plaques detailing a little bit of history on the planes. I wish there was more information included in these plaques. Next, we went into a restoration room, which was being used to restore several old/damaged aircrafts. Inside this room was also half of an airplane that one could climb inside, as well as some airplane motors and fire trucks. There was another hanger located directly across from the main building that contained military airplanes. These airplanes also had informational plaques located in front of them that provided us with more detailed information about each plane. Outside, were 4 military aircrafts out for display.
Tip: I recommend spending 2.5 hours here if you truly want to see everything.

The Air Force Museum was smaller than we had anticipated. There is a good selection of planes and artifacts within the museum. Unfortunately, we were there during the OshKosh air venture, which meant that some of the planes were out of the museum and in OshKosh instead.

Question: What does a guy do in Minot, ND, on a four-day weekend with two rambunctious kids, a truck full of in-laws, and a wife who has seen all that Minot has to offer? Honestly, until we discovered the Dakota Territory Air Museum I didn't know either. In fact, even after we discovered the museum I was fairly reluctant to give it a try thinking it was a fading relic of a one-horse town. I could not have been more wrong in this assumption. Spread among three hangars, an open display yard, and an artifact museum lies an array of statically displayed aircraft and war memorabilia that covers American epochs from WWI to Operation Iraqi Freedom. Enriched with passionate staff, intricate dioramas, and much more, this museum is anything but a fly-by-night operation. We visited the museum to burn time but, instead, fell upon a much-needed accidental adventure.
This place is great for kids, families, singles, couples, and any others. You will not be disappointed if you decide to stop by. Enjoy!

We went here on a afternoon and I had no clue that we had this in our backyard. The planes were amazing and the gentleman who answered our questions was very informative.

Excellent staff and great displays. The WWII memorabilia is both unusual and enlightening. Best military exhibit in Minot.

Great Static display of Historic Aircraft mainly from World War II. British Spitfire and P-51 Mustang are the stars of this display as well as many other aircraft.

Very good air musuem ,history displays,great art drawings.Great way to spend 2,-3 hours , outside dusplays .Rotary piston engine planes lots.Other hangar is excellent, mustangs ,jets .Antique race planes,excellent staff.Fire trucks too.

It was facinating to see the aircraft from days gone by. A volunteer was able to assist us and answer any questions we had about the planes. It is a part of our history that is quickly disappearing. Our veterans of the era's represented are diminishing and how sad it will be when they can no longer share their enthusiasm for this period of history.
