In reading about Harvey Moore I was impressed with all he has done to make a perfect spot for birds and wildlife. The waitress at our hotel confirmed that it would be a lovely place to go for some birdwatching. Obviously it has been a while since she visited. I was prepared for some mosquitos but was swarmed to the point that I had to put on a jacket with a hood and kerchief about my face. The trail while well marked has not been kept up. I traversed serval downed trees by climbing over but then encountered a small bridge that was completed apart. I had to hop over a low swampy spot where I promptly slipped and fell. Harvey would be quite disappointed that his legacy was left in their condition.

We had stopped here and enjoyed reading all the signs that told the history of the spot, the different flowers and plants and about the birds in the area. There are three different trails and all were beautiful. There was a floating dock to walk out on where we seen some of the wildlife. We brought our dog with us since they are allowed as long as they are leashed.

This is just a quiet little pond with birds and a short trail to catch your breath! Delightful. The dogs also enjoyed it! Lots of info boards which tell about the local birds! Harvey Moore must have been a great guy to build this sanctuary for birds!

A well maintained trail that takes you around two man made ponds. Many birds and signs of beaver. The total trail is just under 3 km. Take the time to familiarize yourself with the man behind the sanctuary Harvey Moore. It is amazing what he accomplished in a relatively short period of time. Another PEI Gem.

Beautiful walk in the woods. Signage could be better though- we missed exit to get off trail and ended up going round a second time - which wasn't really a bad thing!
