‪A fantastic place to visit. As you may have read elsewhere, it's about a mile up a path to a nearby farm (mainly uphill) and in changeable weather, I did have my doubts, but once up there it was spectacular. Not another soul around, aside from maybe 50 sheep, so I had all the time I needed to experience these ancient stones (and take a few photos too).‬

‪There is a clear track to the stone circles. The parking is limited as it is only a small layby in the road. The circle is well preserved although some stones have fallen down. The start of the track is step but soon levels off. ‬

‪A fantastic and complete stone circle. A lot of people mention the fact that parking is difficult. We parked near the bridge and walked back up the track to swinside farm. I noticed on the display board that a carpark for the stones is available at the farm.

I have written to Englush heritage about a misleading sign saying only authorised vehicles only are allowed to use the lane.‬

‪Nice to see but ashamedly it Wasn’t amazing,
compared to some other reviews. Didn’t help that it was a windy and rainy day! ‬

‪On a rather grey day I walked with Spud to view these amazing stones, well worth the gentle up hill walk of about 3/4 mile, as people have said before, parking a little tricky but I managed to fit in the lay-by 100yds before the track. Many stones still standing and easy to access to touch and sit and imagine all the thing that have happened here over thousands of years. Amazing views over the Dudden estuary and out to the Irish Sea.‬

‪Daughter & I followed Darren’s (previous review) instructions. Parked in the passing point on the stone bridge, walked back to the farm entrance and hiked up the hill. Stunning! I might have imagined it but I got a sense of all of the ceremonies that might have taken place, weddings, announcements, problems being discussed & sorted, loved it. The sheep are very friendly too and well up for a photo opportunity.‬

‪Not easy to find but worth the effort

If coming from the A595 follow the track along until it turns right but there is a bridle path straight ahead sign posted Swinside Farm. Don't go up the bridle track in your vehicle but continue a few hundred yards to a lay by on the left hand side (marked by a red cross in the picture)

Then walk to the circle by tracing the road back and turning up the bridle track (as per the green line on the photo)

We have seen lots of circles around the world and would recommend this one

You can get right up and touch it ‬

‪Walked the mile from leaving the car on the only narrow road and it was worth it when we saw this place. It just pops up as you climb the hill and it is so tranquil with its huge stones set in a beautiful spot. There was only one other walker visiting and when he left the whole place just felt mystical. There is nothing about this place just a tiny little plaque on the fence so you are just left think what was it for, who built it and most intriguing how? It was sunny and warm the day we visited and the walk through the sheep strewn fields was great. There is nowhere to park officially but there is a gate just past the woods with a large passing point that did the job. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.....‬

‪We very much enjoyed our little stroll up to the stone circle with great views towards the sea. We parked in a lay-by just down from the farm entrance but roads were super tight so we were lucky to get a space.

We had the stone circle all to ourselves in the end in blistering winds. It’s very well formed and was amazing to just wander round without any guide ropes.‬
