Definitely worth a look. A nice walk to it (moderate in places) suitable for less experienced walkers, with outstanding views. The force itself was breathtaking, with a viewing platform that overhangs the gorge as if defying gravity!

We got a bit lost finding it but well worth a visit. Beautiful waterfall and a sturdy viewing platform.

If you look t the waterfall I climbed the left side with 3 friends about 10 year ago I remember looking down and froze young and stupid we all made it to the top but I left an Aladdin shaped sword on the mossy rock face cliff as I needed 2 hands to climb it was terrifying

We visited this beautiful place during a holiday in Ravenglass. The falls are beautiful but very very poorly signposted. There are several waterfalls nearby which were well signposted but for some reason this place wasn’t. So after a period of walking between signs we got out the old trusty ordnance survey map out and found the falls.
The path up was easy going but the last part had been destroyed (presumably it a storm) and trees were uprooted, lying across the gorge. This made it impossible to reach the bottom of the falls, however the viewing platform at the top of the falls was open and well worth a visit.

Did this walk with our 11 year old daughter. Good footwear needed for some of the paths, mainly going up to the viewing platform. The falls is clearly signposted.
There are still some signs stating the lower path is closed however we found no issue with the paths and also speaking with the locals it is now open.
Quite steep in places but well worth the stomp up to the top where a viewing platform is situated to give u a good view over the valley and fells and down the 150ft drop of the gorge. Not for the faint hearted if you don't like heights!

This is a lovely 1½ hour return excursion along a well marked path up a wooded gorge. The first view of the waterfall is only partial because winter storm damage has destroyed the paths and closed off the lower viewing platform for the foreseeable future. This means the base of the waterfall is no longer accessible but continuing to ascend the side of the gorge leads to a much better view with a spectacular suspended cantilevered viewing platform containing dizzying views to the river below, the waterfall itself and views down the gorge.
The attraction is not well signposted from the main road but there are prominent ‘Dalesgarth Camping’ signs at the end of the road. Head up here and just past the entry to the campsite, there is a free car park where the walk can start.

What a beautiful spot, but it was a nightmare to find. We had an angry lady rant at us as we tried to find the falls. We didn't let her spoil it though as the falls were well worth the trouble trying to find them. The recent heavy rains helped as the water was in fall flow..
My advice, defo make the effort to see them but watch out for Land Rovers..lol

This was a stunning walk. My 7 year old and I walked from Fisherground camp site further down the valley. We and had a fantastic few hours at Stanley Force, taking our time by stopping at various boulders and spots along the stream on the way. It's a gorgeous ravine with a fantastic view of the waterfall and Scafell range from the recently installed viewing platform at the top.

A lovely walk, suitable for most walkers (not 'Accessible' though) very dramatic with lots of water flowing. The viewing platform at the top is not for the feint hearted!

We parked at the station and walked the waterfall trail with our 7 year old. It was absolutely 💯 a great day out, such a lovely walk and the lookout tower at the top was amazing, although it made me feel quite dizzy! Lovely day out!
