Having decided to visit Mary Cairncross reserve we arrived at lunchtime and had a delicious meal in the restaurant served by very friendly staff. Afterwards we visited the discovery centre, which was very informative. We then went in to the reserve itself and had an enjoyable walk during which we spotted some wallabies and interesting birds. It was a very lovely day out.

Nice spot for a picnic lunch and to enjoy seeing kookaburras up close. The staff at the visitor centre were helpful and knowledgeable and keen for people to have a good time. We saw a variety of birds and also lots of pademelons. The walking tracks are well maintained and the trees very impressive.

We stopped off here after advice from the information Centre at Montville. Was a beautiful place and we had a delicious lunch. Fabulous views of the glass mountains.

This is a beautiful reserve. Only a 45 minute walk to get around it, but a lot happening. Lots of animals, and the pademelons seem unconcerned by people. Congratulations to the people managing this place - it's a credit to you all.

By visiting this place you receive a magnificent and accessible rainforest experience, all for a gold coin donation. The walk through the rainforest on the boardwalk provides visitors with up close access to the bio diversity that the forest supports. Well signed throughout and very well maintained.

Stumbled upon this great reserve on our way to the pub in Maleny and very glad that we did. There is an elevated visitors centre with sweeping views of the Glass House Mountains plus an art gallery, cafe, facilities and a 3m friendly Tree Python who lives on site. The reserve also has picnic facilities, gas BBQ's, shelters and short bush walks with limited car spaces. Very busy & popular on a sunny Sunday afternoon but well worth a quick stop.

Stopped for delicious lunch overlooking the hinterland and Glasshouse mountains then explored the discovery centre and the easy flat walk through the forest. Nice grassed areas for picnic or simply lay around and enjoy a book. Nature gets 5 stars here!

The pademelons (small wallaby) are lovely and are bothered by visitors except the very loud Tartus noisiae (Noisy girls) who infest the forest and who would talk underwater. Why would you go to a peaceful place and then talk loudly about drivel?

From the time I entered this place I felt as though there was so much on offer. First of all, don't forget your gold coin donation to enter the building because there is no entry fee to the Rainforest Discovery Centre. Donations help preserve the rainforest for future generations. I then watched the history video on how this place came about which was super interesting. The Rainforest Discovery Centre is extremely interactive for family members.
The rainforest walk is such a beautiful space with different animals to see. There are plenty of places to eat outside before entering the Discovery Centre including BBQ’s and a playground. There is also a restaurant across for the Discovery Centre which caters to allergies/intolerances. If you have never been here make sure you put it on your places to visit because you won’t be disappointed.

Beautiful rainforest walk, and fantastic discovery centre! The staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful and told us about all the different walks. The rainforest is beautiful, great pathways and we saw pademelons and beautiful birds. Would definitely recommend. Cafe next door is nice too for after your walk

Opening hours for Cafe? Tried calling lunchtime on a Sunday, no answer, tried several times. Hours on website would be helpful for those of us who live an hour away.
