Very friendly staff, customers and dogs was the first thing to note which gave a fantastic atmosphere and so inclusive. We had breakfast and the food was piping hot and really tasty. Thank you Lisa and the team for a lovely experience.

We went to the beach, during a November visit to Hunstanton. It was nice to see it again and nice to see the sea. I have fond memories from July, which it was the height of summer and like a local news story about the day went crazy and all went to the beach. The tide went out so far. It was lovely. This time, it was more cold and wet. I was still glad that it was there though. I'd go again.

We drove up to Hunstanton for the day & amazed how big the place is compared to resorts like Sheringham & Cromer!
The beach was big, sandy/shingle mix, intersected by the familiar wooden sea breaks & the promenade seemed to stretch a long, long way. A very typical English seaside resort with lots of places to eat, ice cream kiosks, fish & chip restaurants, the big funfair & boat rides. It was busy with families & coaches of day trippers.
Maybe a bit too big & busy for us to consider more than a day there but obviously very popular with other tourists.
The fun fair was interesting to photograph.

Thursday 8th September 2022, we went to the seaside town of Hunstanton, where we decided to go for a walk along the promenade and look at the sea.
We arrived and parked our car and walked down to ‘The Lookout’, which was a raised area with seating overlooking the promenade, beach and sea. We took some photographs of us here.
My husband and I decided that we wanted to walk on the beach and asked Jackie to come with us, but she said she was tired and just wanted to sit on a bench and rest. My husband and I then strolled along the promenade to the beach.
We walked on the beach beside the sea and played by the sea, we collected various rocks and flints found on the beach and we took photos of the wonderfully coloured chalk and sand cliffs which towered above our heads. There was a lovely warm breeze blowing and the sun glinted off the sea, it was all so restful and relaxing with the sound of the sea hissing on the beach.
Afterwards, we retraced our steps and walked back to where Jackie was sitting and rested for a short time. We then strolled back to our car.
This is a lovely place to come and relax and is well worth a visit if you are in the area.

There is plenty of beach here for all to enjoy, even at high tide. The gentle slope of the beach makes for safe bathing and at low tide, some interesting rock pools too.

Stopped here on our trip across.
There is a large accessible car park which is pay and display. There are clean loos and a pleasant walk down to the beach. Even on a busy September day it wasn’t crowded and the walk along near the cliffs was lovely. You could clearly see the three layers of different rock, although given the amount of clearly recent rock falls it pays to stay clear.

Beautiful beach -beautiful

Good promenade for wheelchair users to be near the sea, without getting stuck in the sand. The beaches looked clean and it was a very pleasant trip along the sea front.

Great beach for everyone. Dog friendly below the lighthouse. Great for shells, rock pooling and fossils.

Yes but, they do request they are kept on a lead. However, if not a popular time e.g. early morning (before 8) there does seem to be aliniency for them to roam free

Can you have bbqs on old hunstanton beach?
This is an answer by the owners of the Old Hunstanton Beach. As signs make clear fire and barbecues are prohibited. Can I ask please that this misleading post be corrected or taken down. The reason we take this stance is the number of beach fires that we have arising from irresponsible use of fires and barbecues. Given the current hot conditions it is very irresponsible for visitors to light any kind of fire. Please help us keep the beach safe

Shopping along the promenade at Azams and a charity shop adjacent to the beach. Shops in the High Street - M&Co - baker's, butchers etc charity shops and general small shops, Sainsbury's and Tesco.

where is the best place to park which isn't too far of a walk to the beach and nearby shops, facilities etc? and what time is the best time to get there for a day visit?

We parked right on the front as this is signposted seafront. I would suggest to get there early as it can get busy at weekends and holidays.
