Sadly I have to agree with other comments about pre paid vouchers- - just don’t go there….they take your money and then don’t provide the goods. Very disappointing when you want to support a local business. They have stolen my birthday present and don’t seem to care one bit. Many e mails and phone calls have resulted in…….silence. Learn from my mistake - they are closed now but I will try again next year……

As others have said, you have to buy vouchers before booking, and you don’t get a refund if there is no availability. Our lessons were cancelled due to bad weather and nothing else is available before we go home. So, £70 down the flusher.

BE CAREFUL! The website for this company is misleading. The surf lesson page suggests that vouchers are the way to buy a surf lesson. So this is what I did. The lesson was booked and then cancelled by them with a couple of hours notice because of the weather. However, we were unable to reschedule because of an already packed itinerary. So I asked for a refund which has been refused, they are hiding behind the terms and conditions instead of doing the decent thing and treating potential customers fairly. If you are on holiday, don't buy the vouchers!

It is unfortunate that I have to agree with previously written negative reviews. We booked two lessons, I wouldn't call them lessons just more of an experience. The first lesson my son
really enjoyed so we booked a second. We are a local family and intended to use this company a lot including for surf hire.
During the second lesson my son only had two turns to surf. I explained this when we returned to the hut and as we were walking away they offered us a free lesson. This free lesson never happened.
We were booked in for the free lesson and sent to Walberswick which is fine as we got there at 11.30. There are two car parks and were told to meet in the North one. As no one was around we walked to the other car park which is closer to the beach, still no one around I spoke to the car park attendant who said there is no North car park but that was the one the surfers usually use as its closest to the beach. It then turned 12 o'clock and we still didn't see anyone so I sent a text to the surf school and decided to walk back to the car park which we had parked in by the harbour. As we got closer we then spotted a van and surfboards being lifted out. The instructors were talking to a couple so we waited and then I eventually interrupted and explained that we were here for our lesson. The instructor shrugged his shoulders and said we were 10 minutes late so we could not join them as they were ready to go even though I could still see people pulling on their wetsuits! So I said I'm my son only had to pull his wetsuit on but again the answer was no but I could re-book.
We walked away and as you might guess we won't be wasting our time to re-book!
As a one off experience that's over priced it's ok but as a local family we will never be using this company again or recommending them.
I would recommend that you save your money to buy a surf board even a cheap one from a shop and you will have more fun playing with it near the life guards in the beach as the surf school do not teach you to surf they just give you a push when the right wave comes along so it is as I said more of a surf experience.

We booked a group surf lesson for a hen party and had a best time!! Sadly we didn't have many waves but the instructor came up with some fun games for us to do in the water. It was so much fun, and would definately come back to try again!

Had an amazing time for my hen party! Noah and the guys were great and very patient with the 10 ladies! They had us playing games. Definitely will be back to try surf some southwold waves!

Me and my girlfriend hired bikes from Southwold surf school last week. The bikes were really good quality and it really makes a difference having good bikes rather than the bikes from the other hire shop. Definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a great day out with good bike trails and pubs!!

We hired bikes and had a surf lesson at Southwold surf school and it was amazing! Really friendly and great bikes! Surfing was so much fun and we are definitely going back for more!

Thoroughly enjoyed my first ever surf lesson and even managed to stand up! All equipment was provided and staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend!
