Had a wonderful 40 mins here in the small but well filled museum. Bearing in mind the charges at Battle Abbey, we learned so much about the battle and local area throughout history. Really interesting exhibits and best of all were the friendly local volunteers who give up their own time to staff the museum. They helped our younger children understand the range of stories behind the exhibits. Wonderful fun!

Set back from the main road this is a museum which naturally concentrates on the Battle of Hastings.No artefacts but a thorough explanation of the battle.Worth a visit

The Museum is very interesting with it's 1066 exhibition including 'Battle of Hastings' axe and Roman finds from Beauport Park.
Free admission. The Almondry gardens were closed for a while because of work being done.
School groups are welcomed via arrangement,

A small museum but with very informative display. Staff were very friendly and knowledgable. Make sure to see the axe head

We were SO welcomed to this gorgeous little museum, with kind ladies pointing out interesting aspects as well as answering our questions. We were fascinated by the range of items in this small museum, from flints to WW2 and especially thrilled with the axe head & history of Battle “extra” tapestries and personal insights into making those! Super little shop with a particularly good range of books. Thank you for this super experience.

Very helpful and informative staff, lots to see and we’ll laid out. Free to enter. Well worth a visit if your walking around Battle.

Lovely little museum, friendly and knowledgeable staff, full of interesting objects and information on the Battle of Hastings, local world war history and the gunpowder trade.

This is a great little museum. It gives a very good history of the town from the Norman conquest onwards. In addition to this they have the only battle-axe from the battle.

We had already visited Battle Abbey when we spotted this museum, which is run by volunteers. I’m so glad we went in. The volunteer who spoke to us, showing us details of the Bayeux Tapestry was so engaging & knowledgeable that we were totally infected by his enthusiasm. Thank you!
