‪Lovely experience ‬

‪I've visited with friends, as a couple and for baby club. The cinema is so fancy and oppulent! Even the bathrooms are gorgeous and have a lovely seating area. Everything is top quality from the hand soap to the fixtures and fittings. Yes it is very expensive but it is a treat. It would be nice if they did more deals though. Staff are friendly. Food is fine. Cake is surprisingly great and tastes homemade.

Baby club is such a great idea. It's not publicised at all and I only found out through word of mouth, which is great as its not busy at all. It's so amazing to be able to take baby somewhere, relax and watch a film, and have cake and a coffee brought to your comfy seat. I take my breastfeeding pillow and just chill with baby who generally just feeds and sleeps the whole way through. Baby club is reasonably priced too.

The only reason for 4/5 is It's really unclear what you're supposed to do when you arrive; I tend to just have to hang around until someone notices me so I can go through and sit down and they know to take the order...there's no system of queuing and having your ticket scanned or anything...you just hope to catch someone's eye and wait until they're not too busy to greet you.

Also, as lovely as it is to have soft furnishings...how often are these cushions and seats being vax cleaned?? I tend to just throw the cushions somewhere else coz ew. ‬

‪Too many screenings and not enough staff ‬

‪I enjoy the amount of space you get at Everyman cinema and the comfort of the seats but unfortunately the last two times I have gone it has been a poor experience.
Visited today and was in screen 6, which I believe is usually used to for private events. The screen was so small! Also, I think that the cinema got greedy and squeezed too many screenings in on one day. The staff couldn’t keep up! They were taking food orders right up until the film started so the first 20 minutes of the film was interrupted.
We also had a few people arrive after the film started and they insisted on ordering food which causes more disturbance. I think if you’re late you shouldn’t be allowed in, let alone order food!
The people next to us were smacking their lips, sucking their fingers clean and slurping on their empty milkshakes for the first hour.
Perhaps a rule about arriving 30 minutes before the film if you wish to order food needs to be in place, although due to the amount of screenings on today the screen wasn’t ready to enter until the time stated on the tickets.
I think for £18 a person, there is a lot more they could do to make it an enjoyable experience. Also, perhaps adult only screenings could be introduced, as children often interrupt the film as well.‬

‪I will never return ‬

‪Terrible. They refuse to accept the currency of the country. Electronic payment only. I had cash in my pocket but was told that they did not accept it and I was turned away. It is humiliating to be ejected from a venue because you try to pay in the legal currency of the country. I felt like a criminal. I was treated like one. My wife was in tears.‬

‪Be wary‬

‪My wife and daughter visited this venue. They tried to purchase two separate items , the credit card machines were faulty , or staff did not know how to operate. After a further four attempts we discovered we had been over charged a further 4 times totalling 120.00. Following day visited the site with evidence. "Manager" agreed but is not allowed to refund needs to go to head office ? Nice to be trusted when you are the "Manager" must give him a great sense of being wanted. Eventually , 5 hours after get a call to be told that they don't refund to credit cards but only to bank account 5 to 7 days . How ridiculous. Mastercard were shocked , although they did say if it was Everyman it does happen . They told me to point out that the R button on the machine means REFUND !!!!
My advice to visitors in Chelmsford town is use cash in this venue.

BTW only stating the facts personal feelings are unprintable TBH‬

‪Great for a treat!‬

‪Oki good points -
•Comfy sofas
•Food and drinks tasted spot on (hand cooked chips not crappy ones like harvester etc)
•the atmosphere is great - including the ladies toilets
•very clean and tidy
•more adult
•having the table service to your seat before the film start was spot on!
•very kind staff
•all in all will be back!

Not so good points-
•staff could dress more professional, the girl who took our order although polite her dress was on her bum line! She kept pulling it down and one false move and everything would be showing - although a pretty girl it’s not practical or acceptable
•again milkshake was great tasting but for the price I think adding even some cream or sauce inside the glass would just add that tiny extra and more ‘photo worthy’ plus doesn’t cost a lot for whip/sauce
•no where to put bags/coats so if you have no one next to you great it’s out the way but other wise it has to go Infront of you and when you have servers coming past it’s not ideal in the dark.
•£31 for cheesy chips, 2 shakes and burger and chips I think is a bit much - maybe do some deals in the week?

But as a whole I would highly recommend and will be turning :)‬

‪Stylish but cleanliness lacking‬

‪On first impression the waiting area looked comfortable and cosy. We arrived at lunchtime and ordered coffees which arrived promptly. Glancing around it became noticeable that the tables and sofas hadn’t been cleaned - in fact the sofas had a lot of detritus in the ‘buttonholes’.
On to the cinema, which was comfortable and spacious.
After, the gents toilets had puddles on the floor, and there was more detritus in the waiting area.
I gave this feedback to the manager on duty so hopefully they will give a bit more attention to cleanliness. Otherwise good.‬

‪20 minute wait for a bottle of beer lol‬

‪You are not allowed to order a drink at the bar yourself you have to go into the actual cinema and take a seat and wait then you bottle of beer arrives after 20 minutes a bottle of beer the couple next to us ordered food and the food arrived 8 minutes into the film not a relaxing movie experience with servers in and out with food and drink whilst you are trying to watch the movie ‬

‪What a great place to watch a movie.My 11 year old has never been here before and loved it.We all had the hot dog,i liked them but my wife and son said they tasted a bit crunchy on the outside,they basically have a bit of a spicy kick to them.It is a bit pricey here but its a treaty place and i so am coming back again.Love the seetees‬

‪Cozy Cinema‬

‪Me and my boyfriend went to Everyman cinema to see Don't Worry Darling and was so impressed! We were greeted at the entrance and asked what we'd like to order which will be served to us in the cinema just before the film had started. They have an extensive range of cocktails which we took full advantage of as well as restaurant quality food to choose from. We had ordered the 3 small plates which were so tasty that I had to order them again.
Visiting Everyman has made me not want to go to a 'normal' cinema ever again as both me and my boyfriend had enjoyed every second of it. It is definitely a treat to go here and would be more expensive than your average cinema visits but, in my opinion, I think it is completely worth it.‬
