Hi Michael, many thanks for taking the time to leave this message and feedback which is very much appreciated by all at Clacton Pier, especially the owners. You are right that we are constantly dealing with the conditions associated with being over the North Sea. A great deal of money is spent on repairing and maintaining a 150-year-old plus structure and also investing in improving our attractions for our customers. We are pleased that you recognise that and love the pier as much as we do! Your comments mean a lot to us.

Hi, and thank you for your feedback as we are interested in everyone's experience at the pier. We apologise if you had a delay in getting into the grotto. That is certainly not what we want for our customers - hence offering time slots to try to manage the situation. It does work on most occasions but sometimes in busy periods there can be delays for various reasons. We can honestly say that the majority of feedback we have received has been extremely positive (the previous review is just one example). However, we accept that was not the case for you and we are genuinely sorry.

Wow, what a fantastic review and thank you very much for taking the time to give us such comprehensive feedback. Obviously, this is just what we like to hear and your comments will be passed onto the team responsible for the grotto. The new grotto and stables were built in 2020 due to a significant investment and our wish to provide a quality experience for Christmas. We have tried to improve it each year - and as you say - added free face painting this year for the first time. Have a great Christmas and hope to see you back at the pier soon.

Hi, I am so sorry that your experience was not what we, or you, would have wished for. If you had problems loading a fun card, we should have had someone to help you - although if the staff member was not the right person, they would have had to call for assistance. We also apologise if you were encouraged to register your card for the draw after the closing date, that should not have happened. We do have a number of staff available around the site to help and normally they provide a good service.

We apologise if the loos were not up to standard on the day you visited. They are cleaned regularly - and checked - throughout the day but we will mention this to the team.
