Despite one or two bad reviews, as NT members we visited to experience reality of the war effort.
The vneue iis not all frills, it's about what life was like. If your mobility is compromised use the bus but you will miss one element (underground tunnel) as its accessed via a very narrow steep spiral staircase. Well worth the visit to see everything, not least the views too.
Gents toilet recently refurbished ladies soon to be dome. Lovely walk from an expensive unconnected car park

There is plenty to see and a good view of the Needles. Bus available to access if needed but it is a nice walk on a fine day. Refreshments available but upstairs. New Battery is open on Saturdays-best to check first.

Well worth a visit. Free for National Trust members although the Map searches says there is parking on site - there isn’t (unless you have a disabled parking badge).
It’s about a 20 minute walk from the Needles car park. It’s an easy walk with stunning views.
The battery is very interest with a great view of the Needles.

Horrified to see National Trust staff try to charge a distressed lady £7.50 as she needed the use of a toilet. The lady was in some distress and was eventually helped by another visitor. we refused to pay entry in protest. real shame that the National trust has now succumbed to the greed of money. collect the entry fee at all costs.

Found expensive for what it is. An Experience and great views. Did the chair lift and boat. Loved crazy golf and some nice shops weather was great which helped.

Epitome of “Rip off Britain “, pay to park, pay to get down to a very small beach on cable car, pay to get a bus to the battery only to find you have to pay to become a member of English heritage before you can buy a coffee, 🤬🤬

Nice museum and grounds but a little bit expensive for what was there. It was fun descending into the corridor to the searchlight. Very helpful staff

This is a very interesting place to come to see. A Victorian fortifications with WW2 reinforcements added. Staff are really knowledgeable about the site. There are a few hidden areas that are worth an explore. Wouldn’t mind coming back here again.

It’s a little tired and rundown - small number of rides for kids, tourist shops, food, general area but if you go for the view and trip to the beach area it’s nice for a few hours. The walk looked good but with younger kids and not great weather we decided not to attempt it. Not sure we’d go back again but pleased we went for the views.

One of England’s most iconic views. Seeing it in person, in high winds, was an outstanding experience. The cafe on site was well worth a visit and both members of staff were very helpful and chatty Hot and cold food available.

Have a toddler under 2, how safe is the cable thing ride? Will we need to put him in a sling?

We walked both ways. It's a lovely and pleasant walk especially in a good weather. We also saw few cars and even a bus driving pass, so I'm sure there is a way to get there using a transport.

I want to go on the cable car etc. I understand car parking is £5.00. Do motorbikes have to pay, if so how much? Thanks

I am not sure - but I would think they might be less - they have been really helpful when I have called the Needles Landmark (the chairlift/ car parking is different to National Trust) in the past - you can call them on 01983 752 401.

Closed Xmas/Boxing day, New Years Day, but only open weather permitting 10am to 4pm. Hoteliers will have more info, this is a bleak, windy location, £5 parking. We went mid September, good luck Xmas time.

We have heard of the great view of the Needles from the Battery. However we are in our 80s and not very mobile.
How close can we park, and how far would we need to walk?
Will the Battery be open on 16th/ 17th February?

Hi
The normal parking is 1.5 miles away from the Battery, however we have 2 disabled bays at the site. As there is very little room for parking and turning around if those bays are taken, we ask that you ring ahead (when you are on your way)01983 754772 and ask if there is a bay available. The Battery isn't fully open until 14 March, however the site is open and the Tearooms are open from 14 february to 22 February for half term. There are stunning views from the Tearoom, so you are able to enjoy a cuppa & a slice of cake and soak in the views.
I hope that helps.
