Easy walk apparently this from other reviews I had seen... I nearly died at least 20 times walking up those steep hills! Admittedly I haven't done any exercise for about 8 years and have been stuck behind a desk eating crap, so maybe I wasn't quite ready for this!
After being dragged on by my 3 teens & the other half, I did manage to make it to the top to be welcomed by some amazing views across Lancashire! Didn't go in the tower myself, however the kids did and said it was alright, so must have been good to actually get a response out of them.
Pub on way back was pretty awesome.
Tips for other out of shape walkers:
-decent pair of shoes needed, whilst the paths aren't that bad, the incline can get to you
-dont expect to have it done in less than 40 minutes, it's pretty deceptive
-make sure you take plenty of drinks as there nowhere to buy anything near by
-dont get roped into fitness walks off your other half

Best Tower in the county, if not the country. Mind you, the invading neighbouring town took Darwen out of Lancashire.
Give Darwen Back to the Darrerners. Put Darwen back into Lancashire.

Had a lovely walk up to the tower .. would throughly recommend it … started from bold park . The views were tremendous. Went up the tower the view one at the top was well worth it ….

A nice short walk up to Darwen Tower from the small car park at Sunnyhurst Woods (BB3 1JXX), and the tower was open to climb and free, giving nice views over the adjacent town and moor . Whats not to like.
The tower was completed in 1898 to commemorate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee.

Jubilee tower situated in the mill town in Darwen,,steeped in history and legends,,if you like the paranormal like me this is for you all,,yes this tower is seriously haunted,,regular sitings of a lady around the tower,,voices also heard here and people have been pushed inside the tower,,it's very active,,night time recommended,,that to one side it's easy to find,,if your coming from down south traveling up north come off at bamber bridge junction 29,,drive to top of slip road,,facing roundabout,,drive around it till you face the 12 o'clock position,,drive under the bridge and stop at the traffic lights,,veer right from lights 3 o'clock position then drive up slip road,,take the M65,,simple,,drive for approx 7 minutes take the Darwen exit,,easy find,,look out for Bolton road,,Darwen tower is very close to Bolton road,,park up free and respectfully around here and then find a public foot path that Leads up to the haunted tower,,the views are stunning on a clear day,,from here it takes about 15 minutes steady walk to the tower,,also if you turn left from Darwen tower you can walk all the way to rivington pike,,just follow the foot path and signs,,it's a cracking walk,,please carry plenty of water food and all weather gear,,including a quality compass,,I've been coming here since the 1970,s and Darwen and rivington are high elevated areas and are subject to extreme weather patterns,,one extreme to the other,,fog banks are common here and if you don't know the area it can be very intimadating,,both areas are also renowned for freezing high winds,very warm clothes and a three layer survival bag just in case,,rivington Moors is also steeped in history,,the scenery is staggeringly beautifull,,it's jaw dropping for none locals,,also watch out for the massive TV mast,,you can see this from Darwen tower,,the best views are at the back of the TV mast,,it's very high up but what a view it is,,recommended indeed,,

Darwen’s Jubilee Tower walk was lovely. We drove through a residential estate to reach the Sunnyhurst Woods car park then walked up the hill and did the circular route which comes back down and out towards a pub next to the car park. It’s hard to believe you’re close to a residential area, you pass a fields, a farm and can see 2 reservoirs. The tower itself was under renovation when we visited, the walk was fantastic though, as were the views from the top!

Had such a blast up here today to see in the new year. Abit tough getting up certain parts due to frozen ice making it really slippery underfoot, but the panoramic views at the top coupled with super sledging in the snow made it worth while.

A great walk anytime obviously bit better in spring or summer.... but in Autumn Winter still good to get the walking boots 🥾 on and give it a go wonderful views peaceful 👌👌👌

Sono salito a Beacon Hill, ove si trova la torre, partecipando ad una gara podistica che ha preso le mosse dal bel cottage del centro visitatori di Sunnyhurst Wood in Darwen per poi attraversare belle foreste, ripidi e fangosi sentieri e infine rientrare a Sunnyhurst Wood.
Più che la torre, ho ammirato lo splendido panorama tutto intorno.
