‪At present the train is not running due to staff taken seriously ill and lost over over the covid period. The heart has been taken out of what was left of the volunteers thanks to the little darlings that have vandalised the station buildings, furniture, crossing lights and signs down the track.‬

‪Great fun‬

‪Very cheap little 5 minute ride, but great fun... run by volunteers. You can even drive it yourself with some training ... I think for a fiver.‬

‪Reasonably priced for a coupe of hours interest‬

‪We stopped here to pass a few hours on our way to a holiday. Small play area and plea to of room to picnic but not much to interest small children.‬

‪Trip along the lakeside‬

‪Excellent short trip on the narrow gauge railway followed by a walk around the Lake.
Wood horn Museum on site so this gives a good eye on the area especially its mining background. The area was also used for Ant & Decs Saturday night takeaway. Plenty to see and do. The Museun at the end of the rail line is well worth a visit.‬

‪Lovely little journey for £2 return‬

‪If you're going to Woodhorn Museum see if the trains are running, as the railway is at the far end of the carpark. Friendly volunteers run it and it's only £2 return. Lovely little journey through the park.‬

‪Brilliant little railway‬

‪The Woodhorn Narrow Gauge Railway is a brilliant little railway. The volunteers who run it are enthusiastic and friendly and ensured our group had an interesting and enjoyable visit. The line is about a mile long and runs through a country park. It is well worth a visit along with the mining Museum next door. Old mining locomotives pull the trains. Perfect for families.‬

‪A lovely railway along the lakeside to/from the Museum‬

‪Very friendly reception and a lovely, long ride alongside the Lake between the Museum and a Premier Inn/Brewers Fayre at the other end - superb value and very scenic. Proper industrial style diesel locos fit the scene perfectly.‬

‪A very delayed review on this great little railway. The journey is just long enough to please a 6 year old with a train fascination and to keep him talking about it for many weeks. For any train fans it is a must see and enjoy journey.‬

‪I recently went on the railway for the first time. I did not realise that the train was not included in the museum admission price. It was £2 return for adults, £1 for children and 50p for dogs!..It is very scenic, with some nice views of the lake especially. Children certainly enjoy it.‬
