Joined for classes and the timetable is excellent. Lots of choice and good instructors. All of the staff are polite and responsive.. No complaints

I returned as a veteran squash player following a year of not playing at this venue. We had big difficulties and poorly thought out responses and processes back then with the court lighting; the court condition itself is pretty beaten up and obviously not cared for regularly; and the heating was not in operation.
We returned in late January 2023 to find a new heater in the booked court but 'this can't be operated as the manager doesn't have the app to turn it on'....smart heater eh? This centre apparently doesn't put heaters on as a matter of course - we played in a court not heated whilst external temperatures were just above zero. Squash booking players must request it at the start of the booking. I was advised to book Court 1 if I wanted a functional heater. One new heater has been installed in each of two courts.....2 months after installation the manager 'doesn't have the ability to turn the one in Court 2 on! 1 ancient and dysfunctional heater remains in each court for some reason.
When asked if the court is ever swept...the response was 'it should be swept daily'...clearly it was not as we found a lot of 'gunk and dust' in the wall/floor joints....'I'll get that done for you now sir'...we raised this issue at the end of our session at 8pm.
When asked if there were any developments expected in the coming months specifically to upgrade the squash courts we were assured 'no'....so with neighbouring towns closing squash facilities and the cost of these ones cold /dilapidated / mucky / run down and poorly managed courts' costs rising to £12 for a 45 minute session it seems it will not be long before Fusion will need to consider how it will attract members of any sporting community to any activities at this centre. A perfectly fine squash section in a school based centre in Shepton Mallet is under threat; how are the courts in Trowbridge or Warminster? Lets go an see peeps.

I am a regular user of the centre, and I like to use the gym as it is a short bike ride away so quite convenient, however I am considering cancelling my membership due to the poor state of some of the equipment (there are at least some machines out of order every week) and the really quite unpleasant changing rooms next to the squash courts.
To be fair, a lot of this can be blamed on some of the male clientele (I can't comment on the ladies' changing rooms!) who are quite frankly a bunch of dirty pigs who clearly have zero social skills or consideration for others. I have found rotting, discarded food in lockers and on the floor, plus smelly old towels and discarded clothing all over the place. The floor is usually filthy, the showers never seem to be working, the washbasin taps are loose and the whole place smells terrible. Its not a good experience at all. I am sure the staff (who are always friendly and helpful) do their best to keep the place running, but it really is a bit below acceptable, so i am going elsewhere unless things improve very soon and the management do not get a grip on the maintenance and cleanliness.

For the most part this centre is disappointing. The changing facilities are always dirty, especially the ones next to the sports hall! I am not sure who is responsible for cleaning these areas but it just isn't acceptable. The toilets are THE WORST and drains are often blocked and the shower facilities are either broken or unpredictable. It has been this way since the refurbishment. What is worse is even if you are available at the alloted swim times good luck getting what you want done in 1 hour, which is all the time they allow per session. This was introduced during during covid and have said it will not change anytime soon. So £8 for 1 hr and that is if you get in bang on the hour. It just makes makes a stressful experience in my opinion.
Classes...over subscribed. Generally, if you don't book on the day they are released good luck!
I get the impression funding is an issue here meaning cut backs in staffing levels maybe. Either way, why would anyone want to pay a membership for such a disappointing centre.

The pool is absolutely freezing and incredibly deep. The boiler was broken which made it even colder. To be fair the showers were very good

Absolutely terrible, our daughter went for her first swimming lesson and nearly drowned because the instructor wasn’t even looking let alone aware that a child was underwater.
It was only when my wife screamed out that the lifeguard looked and jumped in.
I have had to wait 3 weeks for a £20 refund which still hasn’t shown in my account.
Disgraceful service and an utterly incompetent and dangerous swimming instructor.

Now the center has become Cashless even worse; you have to fit their system. The staff are not interested in extra revenue even when you are wiling to pay the high charges for very average facilities.

Phoned 5 times to see if the pool was free but there was no answer despite the centre being open. Decided to go anyway so arrived with my 5 year old to go swimming at 5:30pm. They were very kind and let us in FOC to use the softplay explaining the pool was busy until 6:30, but when the lessons were finished we could use the smaller of the 2 pools.
We went to the softplay which frankly was dated and very small, my daughter was bored within a few moments. However she was determined to swim so we waited for an hour until the pool was free. At 6:30pm we got changed and went to the pool only for a member of staff to tell us the pool was closing and we couldn’t swim.
My daughter started crying and was very upset, particularly as she had patiently waited for an hour doing nothing. If I had been told at 5:30pm I could have gone somewhere else but by 6:30 it was too late for a young lady of her age.
I cannot understand how anyone can be so disorganised and incompetent. What a joke. If I were looking for a leisure centre search elsewhere, this lot haven’t a clue.

I’ve used this gym since before it moved to its new location. The staff number seems to have decreased, there is hardly ever a member of staff in the gym between 7am and 9am. When the new gym opened it was great...now the equipment is showing signs of were and tear. It is extremely busy in the mornings and you sometimes need to wait to use equipment, this usually happens when someone has set up a mini circuit for there own use therefor tying up several pieces of equipment at one time (not very considerate) or they take a break and chat while sitting on equipment (even more inconsiderate). This probably wouldn’t happen if a member of staff was in the gym. Also the classes are mostly run for young, fit people while I am in my late fifties with arthritis and so have some mobility issues. I can’t keep up with the classes I’ve tried and they run to a soundtrack, the instructors do not have the time or ability to make adjustments for individuals.
Would it be possible to have a gym only membership, I don’t use the other services.

I went to Frome Leisure Centre today, for the first time, and was pleasantly surprised. The receptionist was helpful and well mannered, the facility seemed very clean. I used the changing room and swimming pool. The centre seems well attended, and well staffed.
