The alumni guides had a wealth of knowledge to educate and entertain as we were shown around several areas containing interesting artefacts and where historic events took place. We were given an insight into the training of army officers.
Regrettably, I forgot to ask what a stair climbing horse to do with training military leaders!
I was part of a group who booked as individuals on a specific date. Parties/clubs can arrange own dates.

not worth the time or effort not good, camberley is not a nice area and to come and be disappointed wasnt a great surprise

This huge site is full of courage and history. Our group had a guided tour of part of the college and every one of us thoroughly enjoyed it. Our guides were very knowledgeable and encouraged questions. The entry requirements for cadets and the work they undertake was explained fully. We saw some amazing rooms and exhibits. In all the tour took 3 hrs and was well worth the £30 fee.

What a wonderful place full of military history. Fortunate to be invited to a reunion at the Military Academy and shown around the museum section and then attend an organ recital in the chapel. The grounds are extensive and impressive. If I lived nearby and there was an open day I would not miss the opportunity to visit.

I was privileged to visit the Sandhurst Military Academy. State of the art building. What few know that a tour for a small payment is possible. Recommended when you are in Cranberry, Surrey....

It may have been free in 2018, but this year entrance was £5, which we thought was a bit steep.
Our day's fun was greatly reduced by the fact that there was no timetable or any indication of what was going on when.
We planned our afternoon as much as possible but as we entered the main building to look round, at an hour and a half before closing time, as we understood it, we were told the building was closing in 5 minutes. Extremely disappointing.
The displays and food on offer were pretty typical for this sort of event, and good. Just a shame they couldn't have managed a timetable.

Luckily the weather came out OK for the event which was lucky. There was a £5 charge for parking this year which seemed reasonable.
We first went to the Ghurka Curry tent. The curry was £5 a person or £3 for a vegan one. Once you have got your ticket you could then help yourself to curry and rice as well as salad. It was delicious and we all really enjoyed it.
Then it was time to walk around and look at the various stalls as well as the many vehicles that were on display there. While walking around we could at times here the Bands playing and that was very good.
There was a helicopter that children could climb in and a Scammell Truck owner who very kindly let children go up in his truck. Our Grandchildren were thrilled to be able to go into such a large truck.
The lake is a beautiful setting for photos and picnics too.
Thank you to all who were involved it made a great day out for all the family.

It was an honour to have been part of this event. Prince William was the guest of honour. I did however get to walk the grounds and get a feel of the place. Well mannered all around. On the day of the parade we were escourted to the main event in a mini bus. Unfortunately this bus was missing in action for the return trip. Two youngsters permanently based at the grounds gave us a lift to the main gate. For this we were hugely grateful.

Sandhurst has been the Royal Military Academy since its founding in 1812. There are several magnificent buildings -- the Old College in particular. The New College is also a nice building but unfortunately the more modern buildings are brutalist concrete pillar looking things.
The ponds were dug by French POWs from Napoleonic times.

You can book a tour standard tourc £20 Commandants tourv£30
They need to be booked three weeks in advance.
We go on their open day that usually is on fathers day around about 16th June on a Sunday. They charge £5 to park your car and you can spend the day there.
They have a website which gives more information. Look for Sandhurst Trust on the internet

What happens at passing out day. Can parents go, what time does it start and end for parents what time do we have to leave

If you are Parents or family of an Officer Cadet they will have all the details when the Academy issues the invitations to attend the Sovereigns Parade on the Friday. There is a church service first thing, for those who want to attend. Parade ends at 1215. There are options to eat onsite, the Ofgicet Cadet can tell you more.
As a matter of intetest if anyone wants to ser tbe Parade but cant attend the Friday event due to limited numbers, there is a Full Dress reharsal on the Wednesday before talen by the Academy Commandant. Tickets for this can be purchased through the Sandhurst Trust website.

Is the 17th June 2018 Open Day a ticketed event and can one turn up at the gate? What arrangements ate there for parking please as likely to have 1 disabled and one heavily expextant mother.
