Really enjoyed our visit today. Lovely wines. We did the 30 minute tasting. The family owned winery is a must visit when in this area.

Based on the excellent reviews on this site, we decided to visit this winery. It was a beautiful drive from Mudgee down to De Beaurepaire near Rylstone, skirting the edge of Lake Windemere. The winery is on a hilltop location, with our tasting conducted in an old colonial building, by Mr. De Beaurepaire himself. We did the "Voyage Du Vin" tasting, covering the whole gamut from sparkling, rose, whites and reds through to a desert wine-it was worth it. We learnt so much! The vines are grown on soil and in a climate which matches closely those of the great French regions of Burgundy and Bordeaux. The philosophy of the winery is to produce only single vintage wines, and to use the same grape varieties and blends as the classic French wines. This produces wines which were clearly the best we have tasted at any of the Mudgee wineries. If you have any kind of serious interest in wine and you are in the Mudgee area, a visit to De Beaurepaire (and the neighboring lovely village of Rylstone) is absolutely a must-do.

We were lucky enough to visit this winery on a trip to see our good friends who live in Mudgee. The winery is absolutely stunning, as is the wine, but what blew us away was the tasting experience and the obvious passion this family has for wine making. A must do experience!

After we had kayaking and bush walking at Dunns Swamp, we drove to De Beaurepaire Wines (33.8 km) and enjoyed a glass of wine. The place is beautiful and relaxing.

It is worth the 3km drive on the dirt road through the acres of vineyard to reach this interesting winery! We undertook the 30min tour and tasting, and with a real French flair to their winemaking, Richard was an entertaining host! The wines are extraordinary!

We had a wonderful 45mins with Richard the owner explaining why they started growing where they did while we throughly enjoyed the shorter tasting (due to time constraints) but hope to go back some time for the longer tasting. And yes we bought some of their yummy wines

Last minute detour on the way home from a weekend away in Mudgee. If you like French wines, this is the place for you....thoroughly unique vineyard for Australia that mimics the terroir of Champagne /Burgundy/Bordeaux (cool climate, limestone, etc). Richard de Beaurepaire and his family (we also met his daughter, Amanda) are the consummate hosts, imparting generous amounts of their time, knowledge and passion. If you don’t like French wines, go for the lovely drive and the picturesque low key setting of this vineyard. This was one of the most informative and fun wine tastings I’ve ever done and the wines are simply fabulous!

This was a rather spur of the moment decision and perhaps one of the best we have made. One of the if not the most pleasurable tasting I have ever had. A wonderful family run winery, Amanda lead us on an engaging, knowledgeable and entertaining journey through a sample of their delightful wines. A little bit of the beaten track but this is a destination worth seeking.

We had a very relaxing time tasting wine and sitting in the garden. The winery offered several tasting options which was good and we chose the independent tasting. The service was pleasant and informative without being pushy or pretentious. The environment was pretty with a lovely outlook. The wine was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
