‪Such beauty‬
بمفردك • أكتوبر 2021
‪From the lady at reception to the 2 comedic boat operators dropping us off after WHALE Sightings and not forgetting all 3 park rangers. Special mention to Annie and her poetry, (young male XX) and his knowledge of the area, to Hannah *first day on the job* and her insightful and beautiful talk about button grass, birds and reciting Shakespeare OMG she was just amazing. This hike was spectacular and so beautiful. Accommodation and facilities 1st class, scenery world class, easy to moderate hike that offered a bit of everything. Do yourself a favour and do the Parks and Wildlife self-guided tour (if you’re able) - what value for money! Thank you, thank you.‬

‪Park Trek Winter 3 Day 3 Capes Walk‬
زوجان • أغسطس 2021
‪We booked this hike last year expecting that COVID wouldn’t have as much impact in 2021 as it did in 2020. Well it did with lockdowns in NSW and Victoria, many people who booked had to cancel due to travel restrictions. We’re from Perth and travel between WA and Tasmania was unrestricted. There are usually groups of ten booked for this trek but our booking only had the four of us (two couples from Perth) who could make it. Park Trek to their great credit honoured our booking. They assigned Heidi as our guide. A marine biologist from Ontario, Canada who sailed in a small yacht with her husband Steve to Australia from Vancouver. Now that speaks for itself!
She has been in Tasmania for some 8 years and has in that time developed an incredible knowledge of the flora and fauna and geological formations of the region. She along with the majesty of the Tasman Peninsula and Three Capes made our three days such a memorable and wonderful experience,. You spend each night in Park Trek’s lodge which has all the creature comforts you could want for after the days walking. Great food prepared by Heidi topped it all off. We were lucky with great weather for the end of winter!
You must do this trek…oh and ask for Heidi to be your guide!‬

‪Three Capes Walk with the Tasmanian Walking Company.‬
زوجان • يونيو 2021
‪A fabulous 4 day experience. We were in a small group guided by the Tasmanian Walking Company. The scenario is spectacular. The walking tracks perfectly maintained. The Ecolodges (there are also public lodges) we great, with terrific food and warm comfortable beds. First day includes small boat trip. Moderate fitness required. Could not recommend the walk or the Tasmanian Walking Company more highly.‬

‪Great group hike‬
الأصدقاء • أبريل 2021
‪Completed the 3 capes track with a group of 7 friends and had a great time, with excellent accommodation and cooking facilities provided. The park rangers who you meet each night are a wealth of knowledge. The track is very well maintained and the views are breathtaking. The track is approx 48kms which we walked over 4 days, which sounds pretty easy but there are some steep hills and a lot of steps, so make sure you put in some training carrying your pack before you make the trip. I would highly recommend this hike for a solo traveller or a group of friends who wish to challenge themselves and enjoy this rugged and beautiful area of Tasmania.‬

‪Some effort, but so worthwhile!‬
مارس 2021
‪Completed the commercial guided walk and it was fantastic with great accommodation, really good food and generally enthusiastic and knowledgeable guides. The country is superb and though we had an extremely windy day along the coast, others were gloriously sunny allowing us to enjoy the dramatic coast line. I highly recommend this trip.‬

‪Excellent track and camping facilities to two capes ‬
الأصدقاء • فبراير 2021
‪We didn’t do the paid experience but set out on a circuit walk from Fortescue Bay that involved two nights of free camping at Bare Knoll. The camp facilities were excellent - lovely big platforms and functioning toilets. The tracks were incredible with interesting seating and lookouts along the way. The paid for huts looked fantastic. Great views and amazing vegetation! ‬

‪Brilliant achievable solo hike‬
بمفردك • ديسمبر 2020
‪I decided to do this walk on a bit of a whim after not having walked for years. I highly recommend hiring gear and food from Three Capes Track Gourmet and Gear, great food and wonderful local businesses.

It is Easily the best track work & huts on any multi day hike I’ve ever done. Great intro for beginners and for those (like me) wanting to try solo hiking for the first time. The huts have everything you could want, including yoga mats with great rangers to welcome you.

The views are spectacular and being able to do a significant proportion of the walk work only a day pack makes it much easier.

Tassie, I’m so proud of how wonderful this walk is. Not just world class, but world leading. ‬

‪Outstanding ‬
الأصدقاء • ديسمبر 2020
‪A group of 9 friends and family members just finished this walk over the last 4 days and 3 nights. The headline is that if you love walking and experiencing some of the most amazing scenery on the planet just do it.
The planning and design of the 4 day track is superb. The quality and maintenance of the paths, steps and volume of boardwalk above the ground is mind blowing. Each set of cabins and the layout of shared bunk bed accommodation and shared cooking facilities is almost exactly the same at all locations making it one less thing to think about after a long day of hiking. Also, the toilet facilities provided are immaculate for a bush camp setup with toilet paper provided so no need to take any.

The Park Rangers themselves are a credit to Tasmania as ambassadors of the State with their knowledge, friendliness and being super helpful with everything. We had Jess at Surveyors, Annie at Munro and Ainslee at Retakunna. All delightful people.

My top tips and what I would take or do differently:
- what and how much or little food to take is worth planning for. Every bit of extra weight adds to your packing space and what you need to carry each day. We bought dried packed meals like pasta with veggies and gnocchi etc. I would have taken more fresh veggies and pre-packed soups like minestrone. I felt like I had too much carbs and not enough fresh food to eat.
- ensure that you have at least 2 x 1 litre drink bottles. I only had 1 and it wasn’t enough.
- how many clothes to pack with trade off of comfort and space and weight is the main issues. I changed my mind the morning of departure and took less clothes and glad in hindsight that I did. Just a change of underwear and socks for each day and I wore the same t-shirt and shorts 2 days in a row. I am a massive Icebreaker gear fan with the Merino wool and it’s perfect for trips like this.
- we were very lucky with the weather and each day was sunny requiring only shorts and a t-shirt. Be prepared though for anything. It poured down just after we arrived at Surveyors on the first night and got cold and windy very quickly that evening. So even in summer a soft shell rain jacket would be a must as well as a lightweight warm jacket of sorts.
- in terms of footwear I saw people just wearing runners and you can. The track is that good in how its been laid out. I bought myself quality trail hiking shoes ( not boots ) which had great grip and they were perfect for me. No need for waterproof boots.
- I also bought the Injini socks which are like a glove keeping your toes separated and they worked a treat. Zero foot issues.

Day 1 - easy 2hr walk from drop off to Surveyors. The place has the only BBQ setup option so my big tip ( if you like your meat ) is to take some hamburger patties or a steak for the first night. Also, we tossed up whether to take some a bit of whisky or a mini bottle of something and it would have been easy to do so if you’re that way inclined.
Day 2 - a bigger trek to Munro but the bonus is that it’s the only destination that has hot shower facilities which was so nice after 2 days of grime. Take a microfibre towel.
Day 3 - the longest walk in terms of overall length before arriving at Retakunna. We had lunch out on the Blade. Its an amazing view.
Day 4 - this was the most tiring day without a doubt. One word “ steps “. Lots of elevation changes up over the hill towards the tip of Cape Huay and the changes in scenery are incredible with a beautiful fern forest in the middle. It’s so worth the effort to walk out to the Cape once you get to the junction to Fortescue Bay. The views at the end are mind blowing where you can see the famous Totem rock.

Overall an incredible experience. Can’t recommend it more highly. ‬

‪Lots of steep uphill and downhill spots. But the views are absolutely amazing. Glad we trained for the walk as you do need a level of fitness to do the 3 Capes‬
