I signed my daughter up for the Cactus softball camp. She along with three other 14U players joined as well. I was excited to see what this Camp would offer my players. I didn't see anything extraordinary that I already cannot do with my team myself. Also there was no preventive injury stretching which was very disappointing. The 40-minute speed agility section of the camp was the most frustrating. The instructor, if not on his phone, had the girls play "sharks in a cage" where they ran around and tagged each other. At a separate time they played tug-of-war. The first session of BSF the instructor had the girls doing one-armed push-ups on a ball as I sat and I observed 80% of the girls did not have their arms in the correct place to avoid shoulder injury which was not even mentioned nor corrected until at least 7 minutes into the drill.

Allows our girls to stay in top-form for softball year round. Great programs, great trainers. We love being members.

I was taking a leisurely drive around the roads behind our neighborhood and saw a huge white inflated balloon structure one corn field over. Didn’t have a clue what it was so I drove over. I knew they were going to build a Bo Jackson sports facility in town but thought it was in a waaaay different area of town.
The vast majority of the complex is a huge inflated oval dome. You can feel your ears adjust to the pressure change when you go through the revolving doors. It’s huge! Indoor infield baseball fields. Tons of batting cages, including pitching cages, one or two soccer areas and The Gauntlet. The mother of all climbing walls. The local fire department was walking around when I was there. They were thinking of using it for repelling practice! Looks like they have lots of sports training classes/options.
Pretty darn cool!
