‪This is located down a hill and at the back of an industrial warehouse type area. Signs point the way towards to the hill. I took a heavy bag and some garden tools to use. There was a table with displays of some of the fossils found in this ocean bed in the hill. We just had heavy rains so it was a good time to go. There were some wet areas and mud. There is a portolet and hand washing area. Many people wear gloves. Found mainly shells and coral.‬

‪Great Place for Fossils‬

‪Fun to see all the fossils. You only have to walk out and look down to find them. Definitely dig around for some of the better ones though. There are also a bunch of lizards that are fun to watch that scurry under the rocks when you approach.‬

‪Cool little place to dig for your own fossils. It’s right with a bunch of businesses but still really neat. Fun for just about anyone but it is on a big hill. Getting up is always easier than getting down but we managed.‬

‪A fun way to get the kids out of the house for a bit‬

‪This was a hit with our kids. Even mom and dad had fun! We went after it had rained, so be aware that it becomes really slippery when it’s wet. Make sure you’re wearing sturdy shoes. Even though it was wet, we still had fun and found a couple of cool fossils! There is a port-a-potty in case you need to use the restroom. Be sure to bring sunscreen, something small to dig with, and a something small to put your treasures in. The kids could have easily spent hours here. It’s a great way to get them outdoors and learn some history of the Earth.‬

‪If you're in the area, make a stop at Trammel Park. My two daughters (8 & 12) had a blast hunting for fossils. This was a great hidden gem!‬

‪Good, dirty fun‬

‪Fascinating place. In a light industrial park area at the back end. Has a nice parking lot and a couple of picnic tables. Lots of signs with good information about the fossils you can find. The hill is a little steep, but not too bad even for an older person like me. But, you need to be careful. Wear shoes with good traction and old clothes.
Was able to find a few small partial fossils quickly. I hadn't planned to go, so didn't have any tools with me, so had to dig with my hands. They discourage too much digging because you don't want to leave holes that people may trip over. I would like to go back again and spend more time hunting.‬

‪Entertaining Day Trip - Small Interesting Fossils‬

‪There are a tone of small fossils. They are mostly of the types pictured in the images from other reviews. Don't expect beautiful surroundings or large fossils. check out a maps program to see the area.

We couldn't find any trilobite fossils... and we looked for a fair amount of time.

My son's are 15 and 16 and they both had a pretty good time, but I think younger kids and kid's that are really into paleontology would love it.

Bring eye protection, chisels and hammers if you want (some will probably break). However many fossils have already been freed from the rocks and can be found simply by looking.

There are some decent restaurants and parks close by too. Families can easily make a day trip to this location for fun.‬

‪Educational spot to take kids but the amount of trash around detracted from the experience. Several of the informational signs were in rough shape but the ones you could read were insightful.‬
