First time here. Why? Why? Why? We saw the 60's classic "How to Succeed in Business....." It's a great show anyway (I'd seen it 60 years ago on Broadway!) but while slightly dated it is still relevant. But more importantly it is FUN. Great choreography, a wonderful orchestra, superb actors. The theater itself is very comfortable - commodious seating, wide aisles etc.It would be nice to have more area in the lobby. Prices sort of high - much more than community theaters - but you do get much more production value so probably worth it . And much less costly than Cleveland's Playhouse Square. So it all evens out.

Last weekend of the season - 3 plays Student Prince, Hello Dolly, and Pirates of Penzance. All were excellent but Dolly and Pirates were especially fantastic. The work at OLO is always good but this year seemed better as everyone returned to live theater

Excellent repertory company performing musical theater with full orchestra. Orginally performing light opera such as Gilbert & Sullivan shows, this 41st season included more contemporary shows including "South Pacific" and Sondheim's "Into The Woods." Loved "Girl "Crazy" for its music and dancing, especially the full cast tap finale to Gershwin's I Got Rhythm. A true gem!

Our second visit ti Ohio Light Opera. Thoroughly enjoyed Pirates of Penzance. The cast is outstanding and very talented.

First time to Wooster and the OLO. My wife and I really enjoyed the theater and productions. We saw Pirates of Penzance and Into the Woods. Very high production value on the music, audio, and vocal performances. Choreography was also very good. The sets were simple, yet effective. (Necessary, as the show schedule rotates quickly). We were surprised that the theater seated only about 500 people (my estimate). However, it made for easy parking, seating, and exiting. There isn’t a bad seat in the house, best I could tell.
We will absolutely return next season.

We saw three shows - Music in the Air, South Pacific, and Pirates of Penzance - and thought they were all great. The quality of the actors and musicians is outstanding. We were amazed by how many actors have roles in quite a few of the plays this summer. How they memorize their lines and all the choreography is beyond amazing. I appreciated that the words to the songs and some of the dialogue were featured on a screen high above the stage curtain for Music in the Air. That would have been nice for Pirates of Penzance, as there were many fast-moving songs containing important details to the storyline that I couldn't make out all the words to.

We enjoyed our very first OLO experience last evening for the run of Into the Woods — which was great! Reviewing something like the OLO can be a challenge because so much of each season depends on the individual shows on offer. So, instead, let’s focus on the experience the OLO offers.
Pros
- If you need an excuse for a one-tank trip, catch a show at the OLO. That was our plan, and while there we noticed that there are many “regulars” who attend each season, even those who come from several states away.
- Auditioning for the OLO is competitive, and most of the performers are very accomplished musicians and actors, many of whom are pursuing master’s degrees and doctorates from leading institutions. This means you’ll be enjoying top talent on stage.
- The theater is air conditioned and comfortable.
Cons
- Get your tickets in advance — the OLO is a hot ticket in a quaint town. Those year-to-year patrons get their tickets early on.
Good to Know
- Need a snack? There are gourmet baked goods from a local bakery, coffee, water, and even ice cream, in the lobby. Bring cash, though.
- Like many summer rep theaters, some shows have an A cast and a B cast. If you have an interest in seeing a specific performer, check the website or call to make sure you book tickets for the right show.
- If you drive to the show, you park behind the theater. If you are staying nearby, I think it’s easier to walk.

Very talented group of people well worth the price. Kind of unique the way they use shadows to help tell the story. Make sure you look at play bill early it sells out fast.

We saw Candide which was excellent, but the production was soooooooooooooooooo lengthy. I could have dealt with a shorter version, even though this venue is quite comfortable.

We have attended OLO since 2007 or so. We have never seen bad performances but some were more memorable than others. This year we saw 50 million Frenchmen and cloclo. Both were outstanding for voices and acting/dancing. The OLO has a sustained record of great productions. We worry about the future as the audience is quite grey but hope those 40- 50-somethings step up and continue the tradition. The talent pool won’t dry up, we are confident. This is a special attraction. People come from California and NY as well as South and closer. We are opera fans and the OLO got us hooked. We drive from MI for these performances. Highly recommend!

Most people were dressed in summer business casual type clothes. Guys had buttoned shirts and khaki's. Some even wore shorts. (About 10% of the crowd looked like they came from a picnic.)
Nobody was in evening gowns or sport coats/ties, at least at the performances I attended.

What is parking like? How accessible is it for handicapped people?

There is handicapped parking right in front of the theater. I have taken my stepmother with her walker and there are helpful attendants. Even though there is a downward pitch in the theater, there is plenty of room between rows. Go and enjoy yourself. They do excellent shows!

Seating is very comfortable with plenty of leg room. You do not have to get up to let someone walk in front of you. Ample wheelchair spots.

Mid June until the second week of August with a new show premiering each week until all are out and in rotation.
