My husband arranged a "private tour" for my birthday. He also paid for the elephant bathing (extra $25), which is ONLY ALLOWED if you pay for the private tour. We went on a Wednesday for our tour.
Although we had paid for the elephant bathing experience, the tour guides did not include that portion of our tour. My husband thought perhaps he had made an error in the reservation. The next morning (we stayed at the adjoining property and paid an additional fee for breakfast delivery by the elephants) we asked the employees about why we didn't receive our bathing experience. They said, "we forgot. We will credit your card." We asked if we could do it later that day. They said, "no, that is not possible." They did credit our card the $25 bathing experience fee within minutes.
We purchased the private tour (cost was $500) , specifically for the reason that it is the ONLY WAY you can have the bathing experience. If we had known that we would be denied the bathing experience, we would have gone on the public tour (cost $100 for 2 people).
We reached out to the director on 2 occasions to let her know of our concerns, but it is over 2 months later and we have had no response. Needless to say, although the tour was fun, we feel like we were swindled out of $400. Really disappointed in the lack of response by this business. They would have received that $400 ten times over in yearly donations if they had been honest or at least responded to our emails.

We loved staying at the cabins and the tour the next day! It was my son’s 6th birthday and they made him feel so special. It will be a birthday that he will never forget. Adam was amazing and made my son’s day. He made him love elephants even more! I highly recommend Endangered Ark Foundation.

Great experience for a day trip to Hugo, OK. They split the tour in two parts. First part of the tour the staff gives you information about the story of the foundation and general information about their elephants and you can see a baby elephant born in 2020😁They also show you how they groom elephants and how they keep them busy and entertained teaching them commands. Last part of the tour they take you around the property then you can feed a couple of elephants and take a picture. Staff super nice and knowledgeable, we really enjoyed our visit. If you go in summer is hot and warm, wear a hat and must wear closed toe shoes.

Wonderful experience, immaculate grounds and all the elephants are well taken care of and loved!! Our tour guides were excellent! Very friendly, knowledgeable and you can tell they love their job! My daughter and I will cherish this unforgettable experience. I would highly recommend this to anyone and everyone. It was well worth being in a car for over 8 hours and we would do it again in a heartbeat!

Unforgettable to see the elephants up close and be able to feed them. And to know they are taken care of and looked after.

We stayed at the 2 bedroom cabin over night. The staff was fantastic, breakfast with an elephant is something you can't really describe until you experience it. Del Rita is just a kind soul walking down the road carrying our breakfast basket. What wa also great is that they took pictures with our camera for us during the experiences.
Then the tour was the next morning. Tom gives an very fun and educational session about the elephants with an real up close experience with them. He made it interesting even for us adults. Then we went on the tour to see the elephants. Do the observation deck if you can it is worth it to just see the elephants hanging out up close. Then the staff, and the gift shop was fantastic. The prices are great, and very affordable. Great for families, couples, and girl weekend. I went with my mom and it was the best night we have had in years. It is a true hidden gem of Oklahoma.

I was looking at Trip Advisor for our upcoming vacation & ran across this elephant sanctuary that’s only 30 minutes from where we live. Today is my husband’s bday so I bought 2 tickets and off we went. It was SO neat and more interactive than I expected. All of the staff were so friendly and knowledgeable. Very glad we went.

Given the opportunity to feed and pet an elephant was wonderful experience. This was probably as exciting for us senior citizens as it was for the children.

This is a very informative tour, but microphones would be nice to ensure everyone could hear clearly. Understanding that this is a non-profit and they need to raise money, I felt there was a bit too much "selling" during my $50/hour tour time. I did enjoy being able to be close to the elephants, feeding then and learning about their nature and this facility.

My family and I decided to spend part of our Spring Break in Antlers, OK so we decided to go to Hugo, OK to visit the elephants. The whole tour was amazing. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The elephants were precious. Getting to feed them and love on them was exactly how I imagined it would be. If you have the chance to go please do. EAF takes really good care of the elephants and you can tell they love them as well.

I am not sure. Purchased Elephant Experience and Cabin/breakfast package. Spent 500.00 for experience and 375.00 for cabin, breakfast. SO TOTALLY WORTH IT. Cabins are rustic, indoor plumbing BUT no TV. Games provided. Getting to spend 5hours playing with 4 teenage grandchildren was great. The experience was very educational and the kids were able to touch/feed the animals.

I paid $500.00 for the Elephant Experience for 5 people. Myself and 4 grandkids. Spent well over 2hours meeting five elephants. Kids learned about the elephants. Muscles, trunks, foot care, teeth (really neat). Able to touch and feed the elephants. Handler was very knowledgeable and made it wonderful. Also got a painting elephant did as a momento.

Is it true that the owners of Endangered Ark also own the Carson & Barnes Circus located next to their property? Is it also true that the elephants at Endangered Ark are not rescued from life in the circus, but rather are the victims of the circus owned by the Endangered Ark owners? Is it also true that Endangered Ark engages in captive breeding of their elephants, and the elephants born in captivity there eventually end up as part of the performing act of the Carson and Barnes traveling circus? Is it true that there is undercover video on YouTube of a Carson and Barnes elephant trainer beating an elephant with a bull hook until it screams and yelling at another trainer to tear the elephant’s foot off?

My understanding is that the man who used to own the corner property owned a circus many, many years ago. He closed it down and opened an elephant sanctuary, which is Endangered Ark. We were there back in April and the animals appeared healthy and were well treated. All of the areas we observed were very clean. It sounds like you're picking a fight with all of your "is it true" questions.

How much does this activity cost? How much is the extra expense and what do you get for that? How long does this activity take? Are their facilities onsite? Restaurant?

It is a little pricey but so worth it. My total was $405.00. For that three of us got a private tour, got to feed some of them and bathe one of them. It was up close and personal. It was also pouring rain that day so we got to go in the barn and hang out for quite a while. The trainer was with us and answered all our questions. We felt like we had gotten a real treat. There is a small gift shop but the rest is mostly outdoors. No restaurant. If you chose the regular tours I am sure they are great. They have a trailer that takes you back in to the sanctuary where you can see them in their normal habitat. We thoroughly enjoyed it in spite of the rain. If you google it … not hard to find although it is in the country. They do have signs. Hours are listed on their website. On another note -- don't miss the Circus Café in Hugo...all circus themed...and the Mt Olivet Cemetery where many circus performers are buried. Lots of amazing headstones that are circus themed.

For those that did private tour with only 2 people, what was the cost without the extra's? Is it based on number of people doing that tour on that day?

A private group of less than 5 people is $300. If you would like to hand feed the elephants, it is an extra $10 per person. It is well worth the money. Plus the elephants love twinkies and snowballs! You are welcome to bring your own. If you want to bathe the elephant, that is an extra $25
Are there signs on the highway on the way there indicating where it is? I'm trying to surprise my husband and not tell him where we're going.
How much are elephant paintings?
Do they close in cold weather?
