Wow...what an amazing experience! I went in with high expectations, and I was absolutely blown away. The sheer number of big name bands at the show is astounding.
The stages were close enough together that it was quick and easy to leave one concert to get to the next without missing much. And there were screens at each stage, so if you were waiting on a specific band, you could still see what was going on at other stages.
Merch lines were long, but manageable. Bigger name bands had higher prices. Shirts were between $20-$50, hoodies were between $50-$80 from what I saw. Mugs sold out QUICK.
There are strict guidelines for items that you can bring in...so check the website. There are separate gates for VIP and GA. VIP is definitely worth it if you can get tickets for it.
Overall, it is amazing. It is worth it. It's loud, rowdy, and just a bit crazy. But what else would you expect from a rock festival?

Everything was great!!!!! Can't wait to go there next year again ..so many good music..so many famous bands!!! It was my first big concert in my life..and I will remember it always

Let's be honest - the best years were 2007-2009. Since then (a groundbreaking CLASSIC ROCK monster) , AEG took it over and did what every other corporation does - sellout to garbage faux rock and metal bands. Oh yea , we still get a few goodies but the beast has sold out to corporate rock which was the problem with American rock music after 1991. Did they get a bigger crowd? Sure , and that's always the bottom line right? Money. I understand that and Mr Joe Litvag at AEG did his best to build the midwest monster.
I guess what chaps my a$$ is how quickly they turned their backs on the legends who built that festival. And that is the definition of sellouts.
Classic Rock should have ALWAYS been the order of the day (even if "sprinkling" a few newer bands in) but now , ESPECIALLY with the eiimination of Joe , the festival is wallowing deeper into the annals of butt-rock and flash-in-the-pan metal acts with no quality control at all.
The same ol same ol bands almost every year and the sidestages are even worse - who the hell books them now ? It's like amateur night down at the local bar. From 2007 until about 2018 , the sidestages were usually better than the actual main stage line-up.
And then the campgrounds - oh Lord - everyone trying to be somebody (I am more important than you). PLEASE. Sorry - but this was NOT what Rocklahoma was built on nor the original concept. We LIKE nostalgia without the trappings of the same ol Affliction-wearing , Dean-Guitar playing , terrible song-writing , angst-ridden "heavy" bands who can't play a gig outside Tulsa.
Do yourselves a favor and visit festivals that actually MEAN something and have talent on their stages - SwedenRock , Wacken , Headbangers Open Air , HellFest etc... The $400+ price tag for Rocklahoma is absolutely insane considering you can see 90% of their line-up for $10 at the local bar.
You want the truth - you GOT the truth.

This was our first time to any Outdoor Music Festival and we will be back. For such and large event, it was well organised. We stayed in Tulsa during the event and did not mind the hour drive each night.We paid extra for VIP seating which was great and mud free. Unfortunately they did get rain some nights but during the performances we were dry. The grounds did get muddy but it did not alter our fun times.Entering and exiting were OK and I have been to lots of Sports events where it was much worse.
The bands were for the most part personal preferences and we enjoyed the big acts. Going for a stroll to the other 2 smaller stages was nice to get up and also grab something to eat and drink. The sound was great and the fans around us seemed to have a great time. My wife and I are in our late fifties and we did not feel out of place at all . We will return and are looking forward to checking out other Rock Outdoor Concerts.

This is my 7th year in a row to go to the largest outdoor Rock concert in Oklahoma. It is always a great time, there is never a shortage of fun. The people are freaks, the beer is cold and the weather is usually volatile...But we wouldn't have it any other way! ROK also allows campers to spend a whole week there partying with other campers getting ready to rock. It is a major production and until this year it was perfect.
They moved the other 2 stages, Axis Entertainment was gone and the Z104.5 stage was to far away from the Main Stage...

Extremely muddy and loud campgrounds. Trailers with generators mixed in with tents. No separation. Bands were mostly faux metal with a few exceptions. Only a couple I'd consider rock bands. Drinks were expensive, but that was at least expected.

I really can not see ever going back to Rocklahoma again unless they really have a 3 great headliners which they would have had this year if Ozzy would not have canceled. On Friday it took over an hour to get in due to the backup of traffic. This place was SO UNORGANIZED, it was ridiculous.Then at the end of the night was worse getting out than getting in. You would have thought that this was the 1st year they had this event, but it wasn't, it was the 12th year. I guess no one in Oklahoma knows how to build a great outdoor concert venue which is why I will never go to another outdoor concert in Oklahoma again.

Is it safe? Reason I ask is, we're trying to rent an RV and most in the vicinity specifically exclude renters going to Rocklahoma. Certainly makes one think there are some safety (vandalism) concerns.

Yes it is safe been going since 2013 the only reason they don't wanna rent to rocklahoma is because of the drugs and drinking going on and they don't want their rv messed up
