One of the best experiences of our lives! We are on a cross-country trip and this stands out on its own. I would easily go out of my way to do it again.
There is something special about being up there, in that plane, and in the open air. We flew over several points of interest that Dana, the pilot, was sure to point out over the headset. These sights included the local towns Friday night football, rivers, the coastline, and much more.
The aircraft is immaculant and felt super safe. The front seat is a bit tight but my wife probably preferred it that way.
I imagine your first time flying in the open air is a lot like sailing, you just kind of get it in your blood. Here we are a few weeks later and all I can think about is getting back up in the air.
If your questioning doing this, let me help you, book it. Add more time if you can but just be sure and do it.

We are locals and the by-plane often flies over our house. My husband, a 20-year Air Force veteran, really wanted to fly this adventure. I finally made a reservation but the weather was too foggy and windy. We were on the on-call list because he was available any time and we could easily work around tourists. We got a call and hit the road! My husband had a ball and is ready to go again. The couple running the business is friendly and informative. We highly recommend taking a flight!

Loved the ride in the biplane. It was amazing and a smooth ride. My 13-year old and I could not keep the smiles of our faces as we buzzed by the other members of our family waving to us from the balcony of our condo in Depoe Bay. Dana, the pilot, explained everything we saw to us. He kept looking for whales during our flight and helped create a great memory for us.

Do not miss this exciting adventure! The 90 year old biplane was a truly memorable time for us old thrill seeking sisters! Only challenge is how are we ever going to top this one? Thanks Dana! We'll see you again soon.

This is very worthwhile, a highlight of our summer!
We reached a top speed of 85mph and top altitude of 1200 ft I believe. We were given head coverings, ear phones and microphones to talk to pilot. There is a large windshield and our passenger compartment wasn't buffeted by wind at all. I was advised to put my coat back in the car as it was warm aloft; great advice.
August 2019, it was hot inland so fog threatened to come ashore. We had booked a reservation and 3 hr before flight time, we got our first phone call saying they were fogged in. However we headed there anyway and just explored Depot Bay until the clouds lifted. We had exceptional communication and when the sky cleared we had a most wonderful flight. The scenes below were described perfectly by the pilot and my husband used the button to chat with the pilot a lot. I was able to enjoy the coast as I'd never seen it before. Pilot and his wife grew up on the OR coast, and we appreciated the depth of their knowledge since we also live there.
The plane holds 2 passengers; the pilot sits alone behind the passenger compartment. What a wonderful opportunity to ride in a historic bi-plane.

The wonderful owners here come for the summer and then head back to the valley to offer plane rides. Seeing the coast from above like this is amazing. I didn’t see any, but during some parts of the year you can fly over breaching whales! Wow! So much better than a boat ride. If you have the chance go take a ride before the season ends!
