They are quite welcoming to visitors, often there are choir rehearsals and other music to enjoy. St Mary's is stunning inside and out, worth the stop if nearby.

The church has beautiful German styling throughout the ceiling and walls with detailed stained glass windows. Mass is beautiful with lovely statues throughout the church. The alter is especially intriguing. Live music can be enjoyed during Oktoberfest.

I really think it is a beautiful American catholic church. It is really tall and the setting it is in makes it post card perfect. Just a beautiful setting

I saw a picture of this church when I was looking at things to see in Mt Angel, Oregon. So when I came to the Oktoberfest this was one of my priorities as a must see place. And I was in luck. There were concerts that would be played inside the Church.
I arrived early Saturday before the concerts and walked around inside the church taking phots of the Stain glass windows and other features of this Rival Gothic Style 1912 Church. It has a 200-foot bell tower with four cast-bronze bells.
There are about 26 large stain glass windows. Vaulted ceiling with columns. Part of the ceiling is blue with gold stars. that is over the alter to draw your attention to that area of the church.
There is a Choir loft at the back with a pipe organ up there. And down below there is a baptismal found that has small images of Jesus being baptized by John the baptist. This is very ornate and about as old as the church.
I found a DVD about the history of the church and a guided tour of the church that is full of details all about every feature the church has. A small flier titled Welcome to St. Mary's that covers the same details the guided tour DVD does. Of course you will also find copies of the Catholic Sentinel and donation envelopes as well.
The Seating capacity is 800 inside the church.

A stunning church, the interior is a treasure. The priest is a wonderful person and we attend mass when we are in the area. Highly recommended.

Only able to see from the outside but the church is easy to find once you're in town it's one of the main churches in town . when I went I wasn't able to go inside at the time but vary nice from the outside.

we wen to see and hear the choir as well as sunday mass. very welcoming people at the church and made me remember services from 50 years ago. a must go to when visiting

Beautiful stained-glass windows and beautiful statues. Well worth a side trip just for the architecture. Sunday mass reminded me of my hometown in the 1960's - very ornate. The music even included an accordion. This is a very German town.

This Catholic church was built between the years 1910 and 1912. The modest size church has an eye-catching architecture inside that will surprise you. The holy water font inside the front doors is ornate and centrally placed. Behind it are glass walls that separate the narthex from the sanctuary. The arched vaulted ceilings are beautiful. The ceiling high stained glass windows are wonderful. Between the windows are the stations of the cross.
Like most churches the doors are always open. We walked in the front door and wondered the church. A wedding was taking place in the building next door. A few members walked through while we were there, but were not bothered by our presence.
If you are anywhere near Mt. Angel, this is a must see. It's gorgeous.

Enjoyed the Alpenhorn demonstration. The music flowed and was beautifully resonant with the 4 horns but when a musician tried to speak to the crowd those in the side pews couldn't make out what was being said due to the huge dome ceiling. Otherwise great.
