Just beautiful hike! Just wait until you get to the suspension bridge! Drift Creek Falls is an easy, just over 3 mile hike. It is mainly a gentle, downhill hike with uphill hike on the return. Nice dirt trail, muddy in a few spots due to recent rains. There is the common root wad or rocks along the trail so just watch your step. Beautiful falls. Beautiful forest.

This hike was recommended to us by a local. A 9 mile drive in off highway 18, very bendy narrow road so take care as there's some steep drop offs. We bought the $5 ePass in advance as the official website states that the option to pay cash on arrival has been suspended. Beautiful, scenic in & out hike through a pine forest, culminating in the suspension bridge & the falls themselves. Stunning. As others have said, it's mostly uphill on the way back; we saw a couple of people struggling & I must admit that I was panting a bit by the end. I strongly recommend taking a bottle of water especially if hot like it was yesterday.

It is a bit of a hassle to get to this hike from the highway - you're driving on mostly single-lane forest road for 6 miles or so. But once you're at the trailhead, the trail itself is nicely maintained, with two outhouses available (although both were out of toilet paper when we visited). The fee is $5 for the parking, which you can deposit there (cash) or buy online and print in advance.
The hike itself is just over 3 miles and is a nice experience winding through the woods. At the very end, you reach a suspension bridge (perhaps the longest in Oregon?) over the water, with great views down at the river and of the Falls. The bridge had no holes/gaps, which made our dog much more comfortable with it than she has been with other bridges. At the far side, you can go a short distance further down near the base of the falls, where you can look back up at the bridge. It was worth going a little further for this additional view.

Great hike, nice trails and beautiful waterfall. Not too rigorous. Long drive off main road to reach trail head but worth the wait drive.

Although the drive to this hike is on a winding forest road, it is definitely worth it. Take caution when driving the road as it is a single lane with sharp curves. Cell coverage will likely be lost. But you will be rewarded for the effort it takes to get there. There is ample paved parking. There are also outhouses. The trail is 1.5 miles to the suspension bridge and the waterfall. Most people should be able to make the hike. The trail is very easy walking. Very young children might find it a little far to walk and strollers probably wouldn’t make it. Beautiful hike through lush forest. Lots of great photo ops at the bridge and falls. One of the funnest things to do in this area. And it’s very inexpensive ($5 suggested donation - so bring cash).

This is a 3 mile roundtrip hike that takes you through a rainforest practically! It’s a pretty easy trail, and so worth it for the awesome bridge at the end

Facile, 6 km AR
Drift Creek Falls est une randonnée facile, un peu à l'écart de la US 101, mais qui mérite que l'on emprunte les routes sinueuses qui y mènent. Cette randonnée permet de se balader dans la Siuslaw National Forest, une forêt luxuriante, avec de très hauts arbres (c'est une des forêts primaires de la région), des fougères vertes fluo, une passerelle et une chute d'eau de 75'. De très belles occasions de photos sur un sentier facile, qui ne vous prendra pas plus de 2h.
Attention, il faut payer ou avoir le pass America The Beautiful

The hike is very accessible and relatively easy. We ended at the suspension bridge that over looks the waterfall. It was a tall waterfall but not as much water as I expected (thou we did go in summer, so I'm sure it's more impressive in winter). The only warning I have is to be careful on the drive up there. The road is in great condition but it's narrow and people drive way to fast so make sure you are paying close attention.

We were mesmerized by this whole experience. The drive was incredible very windy but no got sick thank goodness. It was me and my kids the youngest being 7. We all did it with no problems.

The suspension bridge is very awesome and that alone made this hike worth it. It was pretty toasty in August but still fun. Also, the hike is pretty short but... a cool bridge, how can you turn that hike down?
You can also go down, if you want, to the falls and enjoy the water!

I was reading comments about getting there on route 20 or route 18 or 101 but could not locate a good map for it. Which way is the easiest way to get there from Lincoln City and how early does one need to be there mid June to find a parking spot? Thanks.

Maybe not a regular stroller. The trail is really rooty. But a stroller intended for hiking would be fine.

How hard is this hike for an out of shape overweight person? Steep the whole way or just part of it?

I walk fast and was able to get my heart rate up while going back up trail to car, but I could have very easily strolled back to car with normal heart rate.

It is about 3 miles round trip. So figure about 2 hours, including time to enjoy & photograph the falls.
