‪Of course, this was during the off-season (October), but it was such a peaceful, chill place! So very green too! And it's just a few minutes drive from the campground to Multnomah Falls, which is well worth a visit!‬

‪So glad we decided to go to these falls. The parking was easy and there are so many levels to see depending on how much hiking a person wants to do. You can view Horsetail Falls from the parking lot level and even jump in the water if you’re daring. A short hike up the hill leads you to Ponytail Falls where you can hang out behind the falls and walk down to the stream that leads to Horsetail Falls. It was not too crowded and people were respectful for those who needed their selfies. Due to the recent fires, the trail past Ponytail Falls was closed, so if you’re expecting to do the full hike, you’ll be disappointed. ‬

‪After the big forest fire of 2017, this campground is only accessible if you have a reservation that you have to show the ranger who is blocking the road for all other vehicles. The park and the road are damaged by the fire but the campground is not. It is a beautifull place in the forest. Unfortunately our site was not level so the host helped us a lot to get our 30 feet long RV level. You can hear the train driving by near the campground and for some reason (God knows why) the train blows it's whisttle day and night. We used earplugs to be able to sleep. The trainnoise aside, this is a wonderfull campground, very near all the sights of Columbia River Gorge and with lots of privacy.‬

‪We stayed for a week it was an excellent location with lots to do in the area. The Campsite hosts were great and the campsites clean. I loved the wild roses when the wind rustled the flowers the scent was intoxicating. It was quite and bunnies would hop around. ‬

‪Ainsworth State Park at mile post 35 on the Historic Columbia River Highway is mostly a picnic spot. It is east of Horsetail Falls. And has about half a dozen picnic tables in a wooded area. There is a sign here with a trail going off into the woods where you can go to get to Tail 400 (about 0.10 mile away). It also indicated the direction to go to get to Ainsworth Loop Trail.

Ainsworth Camp site is nearby just to the east of this picnic are about 0.10 miles. It has a lot more to offer. And might be more your cup of tea than just a picnic spot. This picnic area at mile post 35 is a quiet peaceful place that offered people a place they can just relax in a wooded setting.‬

‪This is one of the better parks I've been to. The tent sites were walk in sites but the walk is no more than 60 seconds from the parking area. The bathrooms and showers were very nice and comfortable. Will come back for sure. ‬

‪We were first time campers in an RV last week and our first stop was Ainsworth State Park - a pretty, small park with a great location! We spent three nights there, changed lots after the first night because of the slope, borrowed levelers from Ginger, the nicest camp host we met, and were happier in another site the next two nights (the company we rented the RV from should have provided or offered for a fee some type leveler for a Class C RV). Great location and a perfect place to get our feet wet! The falls and scenry along the Columbia Gorge area are just breathtaking! We loved everything about Oregon!‬

‪This entire area - Ainsworth SP, Multnomah, etc - is a must see. Drive scenic hwy 30 at least one direction. Multnomah will be busy any weekend day. remember there is a lot to see in this area, do not just go to the falls. There are a lot of minor pull-offs with falls, trails, etc. I wish we had more time!!‬

‪We pulled into A1 after dark at 830PM thinking lucky us...we have a spot! Oops we saw the reserved sign after setting up but we were still lucky to find A8 open.

Very level pad with full hookups for $28. You can slightly hear I-84's traffic to the north and only one freight train has come by one the single track between us and the freeway. BUT note that the beautiful historical Oregon state highway 30 is between the campground and the train track and I-84.

It is dark so I can't tell what the outside is like but to me we just wanted to crash tonight and fill up the water and empty our tanks.‬

‪This review is a bit long- but wanted to give good information on our experience at this campground. When we arrived- there was a park ranger right there to greet us and check us in. She was very nice and it was quick & easy. I'm honestly not certain if they do that all the time though. This is a small campground with a lot of spaces packed into it. With that being said- it was a very quiet campground as far as people go. We stayed in the hike in tent site area in C-5, which is a great site and larger than most of them, so it was easy to set up a tent with plenty of room left and face it in such a way that you weren't staring into the other campsites! The one next to it seemed that way as well- I believe C-4. Several people there had dogs as well as our dogs and all were very quiet. The tent area is definitely not private or secluded like what we are used to when camping in Oregon, however, there were plenty of trees in the tent camping area so that was nice. The Trains do run all night- but I love hearing the trains so it did not bother me at all. I honestly did not hear any cars as close as it is to the highway. I would take train noise over people partying late at night any day!! I gave it a four rating for two reasons; there is one path into the tent camping area- it would have been nice if they looped it, especially for the tent campers hiking their stuff in well to the last tent camping site (C-3 I believe). My personal opinion- but it would have also been nice if they had some kind of little restroom in or very near the tent camping area. There is one large restroom and although Tent site C-5 that we were in is close to the parking lot and then from there you walk a path down to the restrooms- it's still a bit far. I feel that the price is very fair $17- a night for tent camping as there are so many attractions close to this campground. I also like that you can reserve through Reserve America as it was a very busy weekend and a relief to know we had a place to camp and didn't have to drive around looking for a spot! My apologies for this being so long- but hope it helps!!‬
