This old-fashioned family-friendly locally-maintained park has been a part of my life for decades. We returned again at the end of July for the annual Rainier Union High School All-class picnic. Sadly, because of the Panic-demic, there were fewer than usual in attendance, but those who were enjoyed the friendly ambience of this 100+ year-old park.

We stayed at the campground on wednesday. There is lots of playground equipment and basketball courts and a picnic area. The price was decent $28 a night for water & elec.on site. The park was relatively quiet, except some road noise from semi trucks. They need more bathrooms if you are tent camping in the rv area, you have a walk a couple blocks.
The hosts seem nice but the area needs a bit more upkeep and cleaning.Firewood is for sale on site for $5 a bundle.

We stayed in this campground for two nights over Labor Day weekend. We chose it mainly because it had last-minute availability. The campground was nice enough. We used the group site (two families staying together) and it was big but there was no shade other than a few trees on one edge.
The campground had bathrooms with a couple (free) showers. Our site didn't have any water, which was annoying, but the site next door let us refill from their water supply. There were a couple small playgrounds, a basketball court, and a grassy field. None were really high quality, but they were serviceable.

We stayed in the area that was shady, not near the ball field. The shower house gets mixed reviews. Th

As the previous reviewer has stated, this is a great recreational area, with a ball field, many picnic areas, fire pits, a creek where kids can look for crawdads, an area for group activities and weddings, and walking and biking trails.
"Hudson Park", as it used to be known, was a very significant part of growing up in Rainier. Ballgames, Independence Day picnics, family gatherings ... it was the recreational center of the 20th century in Rainier. As time passed, it fell into disrepair, but Harvey Parcher spent many hours renovating, restoring and improving. That is why the park is now known as "Hudson Parcher Park". A few years ago the County took the park over - now we have to pay to use it. It is still a great park, with second-growth Douglas fir trees that are now almost as big as the old-growth timber that was logged here in the 1890s. The last Sunday in July, every year, there is an All-class Reunion for Rainier Union High School. Visit the park that day, and you will see more than a dozen immaculately-restored classic and antique cars, as well as muscle cars and other exotic vehicles that attendees have brought to the reunion.

This is a very nice campground which is not far from the Portland to Astoria highway.
It is less than maybe a four to five minute drive off of that highway.
When I was there in July hardly anyone was here and that is still the high season.
It has shady tree covered campground sites with water spigots on site, there are plenty of trash bins and recycle, there are showers in the main restrooms for your use, there is a volleyball court, a family large group area for functions, picnic tables, fire rings for cooking, enough parking for everyone.
There are some hiking trails connected to the park, there are plenty of photo taking opportunities in and around the area with you immersed in nature.
I recommend coming here and felt it was very relaxing.
