Ever since we bought our vacation home nearby, I eagerly look forward to browsing the store(s), where I have found gorgeous jewelry, (very fairly priced), as well as lots of goodies - some old, some not. Step out of the Walmart, Kohl’s & Target box and enjoy buying unique things that the rest of the world doesn’t have. More importantly, we need to shop locally because these small businesses need your support to survive.

Benton Antiques and the Bakery at Benton are now owned by the same person. The antique emporiums are across the street from each other, and have much to offer. My wife is the collector-- she is always on the look out for items to feature in her photography compositions. Me, I just look for something that makes me smile.
We spend four hours shopping. That should tell you plenty. The prices were great, plus the shop keepers were funny and friendly.
We will definitely stop back when we visit this area again.

There was an old geezer on the front porch who said, "My wife just went in there. I'll probably be here until Tuesday." I took that as a good sign. Antiques are more for average collectors and maybe not so much for high end collectors. But that's a good thing. That's where most of us are at. Friendly staff. They really know how to have a Christmas open house. We were there when the sandwiches arrived. Can you believe roast beef sandwiches? We didn't have to buy lunch. Met the mayor and the owner of the two shops. Nice people and nice little town. We were in Benton for the first time, but it won't be the last. Traveling on I-80 it's worthwhile for a side trip even though it's of some distance. We really enjoyed our visit.

What a great antique store. It is amazing how they re-did the building. The store is a large building with 2 floors of antiques. Stop in you will not be disappointed

To top it all off after shopping or browsing please stop in the tea cafe ( first floor ) it is just like sitting in a European cafe. Every bite of food is so delicious, and for desert we had banana split pie, I can't wait to try there scones.
