Everyone had a great experience,a lot of new first time riders,everybody did great,will use again.Fall foliage is a great ride time.

Braces stables is a very nice, family run stables. They took good care of me and my wife, and our two sons age 11 and 13. The horses were smart and easy to ride. We went up to see a very nice waterfall about an hour away and back. Very much fun, and worthwhile trip.

Enjoyed a family getaway weekend with two 12 year olds! Views were beautiful. Kids had a great time riding the horses.

We actually took a ride to the waterfall. We found our ranch hand/cowboy very rough and rude. He made me rush my older horse and try to get her to speed up. What was the rush?? I figured it out while at the waterfall - he either had a hangover or needed to get back to the barn for a beer ( and that is what he did as soon as we returned). I feel he pushed my poor horse to the point she stumbled and fell scraping her legs, chest, mouth and face. I also fell over her head on to a gravel road. I wasn't hurt, only scraped elbow, but felt really bad for the horse. We paid for a nice relaxing ride and didn't expect to be rushed. I would not recommend this stable to anyone, especially with children.

I have to say this is by far the best place I have ever rode. The owners are very kind. They are very busy with being sure that every horse is groomed and saddled very well. They give very good instructions that are very easy to understand. They pair you with the right horse for you. The falls ride is my favorite. It is more cost effective then any place I have ever been. Other people have said they are not very talkative. My question would be were they busy preparing the horses? Or did you try to talk to them? To the ones who want to go off the paved roads I would suggest the mountain. It is very much in the mountain and may suit you better. As to the guide not being ride beside the horse that was spooked by a car. It is impossible to be right next to each and every horse. To all who read this please keep a open mind and give them a try it is a awesome place to go.

We were in the area, had a blast at Ricketts Glen and wanted to add horseback riding to our week. Like some other reviews I've read, the staff member was extremely rude. Felt like we were bothering her, we did not follow through with our ride. We took our business elsewhere.

We wanted our kids to have some horseback riding experience before a family trip out West later this summer. Dealing with Katie over the phone to book our ride was easy - very friendly service. We were a little taken aback when we arrived; as others have commented there's not much in the way of a welcome. Not a talkative bunch. And the website makes the place look a lot nicer than it is in reality. That being said, they took a lot of time making sure the kids were properly saddled and comfortable, and gave them good directions. We did the creek ride, which is badly named as it's not really along a creek for 90% of the ride. It was pretty through the state game lands though. The horses were well-behaved, and our guide (Eric) was experienced if not much for chatting. I think if they worked on customer relations and made it feel more friendly and cleaned up the place they could get more business, as the location for the rides is good. Overall, we had a nice time.

I have no idea why others did not have a good greeting experience. They promptly greeted us. We had great conversation because we made conversation. The owner (male) was very friendly and answered any questions we had about the farm, the horses, the area etc. The ride was great. The horses were groomed before we went on them and it was very clear by his knowledge that the horses are well take care of! We are planning on a return trip with our kids. Disregard any of the comments that this was in anyway a bad experience..you cant please everyone. One last thing, the negative comment about the riding on the pavement with cars passing by..the whole over an hour long ride, I saw three cars. As for the person that said the guide did not tell them about the sites on the way..based on what I signed up for, this was a horse back riding experience not a tour guided site seeing experience. With that being said when asked our guide told us all about the cow tanning tower, the cow hid drying building, the bed and breakfast etc...but I asked. Great guy. Great experience!!!

My husband & I got to plan a mini vacation in early Aug 2015. On our list was to go horseback riding. Brace's Stables provided us with a great experience and a enjoyable afternoon! The creek walk trail was beautiful and our guide was very nice. We look forward to visiting this stable with our family next summer.

We went on a one-hour ride. They hadn't given much thought to the route -- most of it was on paved roads, with passing cars -- and there weren't many sights to behold. The guide did not provide explanations of anything we saw or passed, and didn't give much guidance for novice riders. I'm just thankful we only did one hour because it would have been even more excruciatingly painful to stay on that horse any longer.

I'm sorry you were disappointed in my place! I feel bad that I need to explain myself, 5 areas here I had beautiful gardens, one area I even had a fish pond with a fountain! For years I suffered with a bad knee as it progressed I became less able to maintain my place eventually I became so cripple I just about couldn't walk! 2 years ago I got a total knee replacement, as it changed my life at 60 years old it seems aimless to bring my place back to what it once was! Also the creek ride also used to be very nice.from the game commission buildings on we rode along to creek till we crossed! Then when we got flooded in 2011 they moved the creek way back! Otherwise it sounded like you enjoyed yourselves!
