This is a lovely campground, which was recommended by Anne employee at the Conowingo Dam. I nice sites with plenty of room. This will sound strange, but over the three nights we spent at the campground, we ate at the snack shop five times. Excellent food, pleasant staff, and excellent value.

I want to say upfront that my review is not on the lake or the rentals...but rather it is on the boat ramp. The boat ramp is very narrow...and you need to back a trailer 300 feet to launch or load your kayak/boat. I am sure that people with a lot of experience in backing trailers that far have no problem. But for less experienced people (I admit it...that is me)...it may be very difficult to launch there. The lake itself looked beautiful, and there are facilities like a snack bar, restrooms, and boat rentals that were reasonably priced. If you do want to launch your boat, there is a reasonable $5 charge.

I've been coming to Mussy Run for years and it never ceases to give me a pleasant outing. Boating, fishing , Camping , Nature walks .

Don’t stay here. My family has stayed here for over 30 years. I had trouble with mold in my house in md so the wife and I decided to buy a rv and stay a month or two while our house was fixed. (Because my childhood memories there were so great). So we went and paid two days while we figured out how long ahead we’d pay for. We left to go to Walmart and our rv broke down. We called and paid another night on that campsite and an additional week on a different site and let them know our situation and that we had no way of making it back to move our grille, wood/fire logs and a few other things neatly placed in our site and covered with tarp. The woman acted like she understood and took my money and my wife kept in touch throughout that day and the next day updating her on the situation. Since we were planning to stay a month and had a week paid I paid a tow truck to tow our rv to our new site ( this being the day we had to move our belongings to the new site we were four or five hours late having to wait on tow truck n to hook up rv) and got to the gate where we were told we couldn’t come in and would have to wait to get our belongings. They claimed they called us but didn’t they had called my parents because my dads name is the same and they sent my refund in check form to my parents not even knowing that wasn’t me, thank god it was relatives. So we had to pay tow more money to move else where and still haven’t gotten our stuff or our money back and now we are stranded in pa with no money. With our young children in hot weather smh, they had no sympathy or appreciation for our situation and the fact we kept them posted every few hours on our bad luck.

Reasonable rates for great camping. Muddy Run offers kayaking, hiking and fishing. Great picnic areas and children's playground. Clean and well maintained. Good food at the snack bar. Plenty of deer to see.

Muddy creek is a great place to rent a boat or kayak and go fishing or just to relax kayaking or boating. They have food and a small souvenir shop. Very beautiful and great food.

Our first experience camping there. Site was very small and awkward to get into, as expected in a private campground. Lake is awesome, kayaked around, was fun! There was a splash pool for kids that was really big. There is an observatory with special events. Park well maintained and mowed up real nice. Saw lots of deer and even some wild turkey! Great place for family fun!

I’ve been going to Muddy Run since I was a toddler, and my dad had been going since he was a kid. I took my fiancé here for the first time, and it is and always has been a very relaxing experience. The lake is huge. The store and snack bar are convenient. The restrooms and shower house are clean and well-maintained. They have limited tent sights and cater pretty heavily to RV sights. It does really fill up on weekends, but it’s relatively cheap and easy to get to.

Living in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania has its perks. One of them is visiting Muddy Run! You do not have to camp there, but if you love camping and you love all that nature has to offer, this IS the place. We camp here a few times a year and my kids (11 & 7) love wading in the stream down by the lake/under the bridge. We go to Muddy Run in the early Spring months and they love watching the tadpoles swimming and later in Spring seeing the baby frogs hopping around (see pic below). I am one for nature (we seen deer coming into the park), hiking, watching the bumble bees going from one flower to the next (see pics below) and camping. It’s worth the trip to Southern Pennsylvania to enjoy nature and all its beauty.
